Iverson also led his team to the 2nd round of the playoffs 2 straight years before last year. The guy plays with inferior talent, but together they make for a team that consistently makes noise in the playoffs. The amount of heart this guy puts on the floor is just amazing. His field goal % is not as important as his abillity to contribute to his overall teams' scoring. Scoring over 30 points a game, handing out 5 assists, and generating countless of other points off a series of passes is what truly matters. The guy hands out less than an assist a game compared to Steve Francis. He is not some monomaniac with an obsession to score. He knows how to create opportunities for his teammates and that is what makes him a remarkable playmaker.
And than after the game Iverson said his teammates weren't playing with enough heart, and weren't hustling. Maybe because they just stood there and watched him brick jumpers the whole game. 11-30 is pretty bad.
I mean, it’s unfortunate, but I think it’s pretty well known at this point that Iverson’s been dealing with some degree of alcoholism for a long time now. Not surprising he’d be unreliable. You get what you pay for. This isn’t some squeaky clean Boy Scout like Grant hill or Shane Battier.
Who would want to go to that giant 130° desert island with a bunch of convicts who can't speak proper English?
Iverson showed up to meet kids fighting for their lives… and somehow he still acted like the only thing less important than their battle was going to practice.
I recently read up on him getting sober in a long time.....why would he commit to something this serious when he is clearly not that right the last years. He has other venues to make money, I hear he is close to Shaq and Shaq has been good with businesses. For sure, he should get a slap on the hand for not being a role model, but he was never a role model off the court to begin with.
Why do Aussies think an American, a very headstrong and part uncooperative American is magically comply to their customs.....after a very long arse flight to Down Under where it is a totally different time zone and setting, where they do not have winters probably. And biatch about him behind his back, at least he still showed up. Why go to Australia in the first place.... I sense some miscommunications with the people behind the scenes also.
Iverson is famous, but after his NBA career, he kind of not been in the public's eye unlike a Shaq or Barkley. In which case, I question if the 12 yrs olds are actually into Iverson, since it was a different era. Has any actually watch old Iverson's games? AI retired in 2010 (15 years ago), before they were born. I suppose it's possible the kids dive into the archive tapes of the hardwood classics... because that's what normal kids do? Could it just be that the Parents were fans and got denied of signed memorabilia, got mad.
AI is not a good person, idk where people got this notion. Why is he the person to meet children that never saw him play whatsoever? This ish is definitely on AI but also on the people paying to have an alcoholic has been to meet young kids
I heard Captain Sparrow is available for kids' visit.....he comes dressed In Character. He is also a Drunkard but a nicer one.
