    Trade everyone but Reed obviously.....

But seriously.... this is why he was a top pick.

Exactly. It really doesn’t matter who you call PG in this era of NBA basketball. It is the old way of thinking. The one thing that is really apparent is that the Durant focused ISO offense is the wrong way forward. Reed is a great spot up shooter and pedestrian off the dribble. I hope Ime went to school on the second half of last night’s game.

These takes about Reed needing to get off the ball because "Reed on ball doesn't work" seem way off, IMO.

Obviously Reed is a very good spot-up shooter, but that's not why he is a high level prospect. 6'2 spot-up shooters are not interesting. Reed is a high level prospect because of his potential to drive high level offense in the primary action. I.e. as a PnR ball handler.

And that has borne out this season. He is at 76th percentile PPP as a PnR handler, at 21yo, without an efficient roll man partner. The list of players who are efficient PnR handlers on volume at that age is short, and filled with offensive stars.

Outside of KD stuff and Sengun post-ups, Reed PnR is our most efficient form of halfcourt creation, and the most promising for the future. We should be doing more of it, not less.

I think the idea that we can’t build around amen, Sengun and Reed is a false narrative.

i’m not dismissing that it’s challenging to build around two non-shooters, but if you surround them with good shooters I believe it can work. Amen and Sengun give us so many other skills, it’s worth it. Reed and KD fit. What we need is a high-level shooting guard. Amen is a 3 or 4. We should be focused on going after a really good 2-way shooting guard with size. Bari off the bench.

    Sengun
    Amen
    KD
    Really good shooting guard
    Reed

    When I look at under 26, SG/SF/PFs that don't suck (EPM>0.5), >38% 3FG%, good volume 3PAs (6 atts/75), I see the following guys:
    Marcus Sasser
    Kon Knueppel
    Miles McBride
    Tari Eason
    Anthony Edwards
    Moses Moody
    Trey Murphy III

    Small list of guys.

I do not understand Ime’s stubbornness. It’s fairly stupid.

    I think its warranted.

Sheppard wasn't a huge liability but he needed to settle down

Its ok though, again just rookie mistakes he'll get out but hell have time to look at film at halftime etc

Yes, he should be the primary ball handler for sure.

How can he be the primary ball handler if he does not play. Asking for a friend.

I think he wants to get fired, collect his benefits, and leave.

Eyeball test with Reed on ball tonight was that it looked good except he missed a couple too many shots inside the arc. Off ball, the starters are passing him the ball more. Keeping him out of the starting lineup really slowed the chemistry. Reed probably should have been pulled in the 4th as he may have run out of gas. Granted, if he was put in earlier, he could have had a break.
