Hour or so later and I’m still beyond furious. Normally I go through the stages of grief relatively quick after divisional playoff losses, but after writing the Texans off early only to fully buy in because of the defense, it’s gut wrenching. In a perfect world, DeShaun had no scandal and he is still our QB today, Hopkins probably still here too, and JJ retires a Texan. 2019 DeShaun with this defense would have been unfair.

They play turtle mode all year in the red zone to protect the ball, we all get mad. We give up and tell them just do that and let the defense do the rest and then they decide to play loose...
They tried that damn enroute to Hutchinson like 6x and it was almost a INT or a INT 5 out of 6 … no screen passes to woody… the routes Kirk ate on last weekend we didn’t even attempt …
This is about the time of year that I start questioning my life decisions for becoming a sports fan, start avoiding sports, do more reading, go to bed early, and generally take care of myself like a competent adult. Time to break open the Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau collections that have been sitting in my office unread throughout all of football season, lol. Luckily, I have zero delusions about where the Rockets season is going, so the letdown won’t be as gut wrenching when it happens.
After the last two seasons, and specifically these last two playoff games, the organization cannot be taken seriously if CJ is under center game one of the 2026 season.
Me and my buddy Aikman were screaming for a double move all game. The defensive philosophy for the patriots was ridiculously aggressive. Cheating on everything, 8-9 in the box. Throw it deep and maybe draw a flag. Every time we did seemed like someone was open but the throw was off or receiver dropped it. they ran one screen to woody for 5 yards. Never went back to it.
