Probably more a D&D video but apparently grok is really good at and very willing to take your photos and turn them into kiddie p*rn, revenge p*rn and torture p*rn with absolutely no guardrails at all. This is the free speech that Elon Musk really cares about. [The Atlantic] Elon Musk’s p*rnography Machine The link doesn't work because the bbs keeps censoring "p*rnography". The link is below, just correct a single letter in the url that the bbs keeps changing to an astrisk. https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/2026/01/elon-musks-p*rnography-machine/685482/
I was looking to get a big tv for a small home theater room, but anything around 120"+ is either non-existent or nutty-priced and not worth it. Hell anything approaching even 100" or greater is still nutty-priced. Apparently "we're not there yet". This basically leaves projectors. I'd rather have a big tv for the color, contrast, etc., but something about a projection screen just seems more like a "home theater for movies". I guess they each have their advantages, but being cheap ain't one. A lot of these new screen technologies are overlapping one another or being passed up before they've even had a chance to mature or evolve. lol.
Probably not the right thread but I didn't feel like digging too deep for the cars thread, or throwing it into the ev thread..... but the new ZR1X Corvette just went 8.675 @ 159 mph.
Some (many?) of these indoor farms have had their struggles. Maybe they will have success with this one.
Over 100 fake citations slip through peer review at top AI conference AI detection company GPTZero found at least 100 hallucinated citations in 51 of 4,841 papers analyzed from the NeurIPS 2025 AI conference - despite the papers passing through peer review. Submissions to NeurIPS increased by more than 220 percent between 2020 and 2025, from 9,467 to 21,575, overwhelming the system. Distrust of reviewers is also growing, with some reportedly using AI tools instead of reading papers. The findings include papers from top American universities and providers like Google. https://the-decoder.com/over-100-fake-citations-slip-through-peer-review-at-top-ai-conference/

For 15+ years I've said Google Timeline is the scariest product offered by any company. Combined with Chrome/Android, Search, Gmail and Voice, it's nuts. Then there is Gemini, a ChatGPT-type product that is growing market share and will end up #1 in its category. IMO, it could settle at a level of domination somewhere between Chrome and Search. Not only that, Gemini can crawl all data in the other apps and know more about you than you can remember about yourself. For the record, I am knee-deep in Google products because I prefer them. Someone help me please!!!
Google and Meta are 2 of the most vile companies out there. I was kind of ticked when Apple allied itself with Gemini because my next phone was going to be an iPhone again because I'm sick of all the Google-stalking across platforms, devices, logins, etc. lol. All these big companies are basically taking your info and then ... who knows. Meanwhile, the populace is like "yaaaay.... free stuuuuffff!"
