Listening to Ime’s post game interview indicate that he don’t like Reed shooting over someone when he is getting run over by defender when he catches the ball. Also Reed is getting fed up getting punished for every mistake when Amen, Jabari, Tari and even KD making dumb mistakes every game without getting benched for. Honestly if Reed swap placed with Podz from Warriors he would be averaging 20pts
I posted that early on, it became clear that Reed was was over it and fed up with the bullshit sabotage routine he has been dealt with. “You don’t want me to play like the me that gets 18 pts easy and helps the team get a W?—fine I’ll play your way ..one step further” he played bad, but again he was being sabotaged at some weird attempt to maximize Aaron Holiday who gets garbage time for a reason. The same Aaron holiday who is arguably worse on defense and doesn’t provide anything on offense. Worst +\- on the court for both teams Reed plays the good Christian boy “I’ll work with you and be a team player” but it seemed he had enough. Don’t be surprised if he’s pushing for a trade to any other team. It’s his career and his life, not surprised his body language screamed he wanted to be anywhere but this team with how he has been treated and allowed to develop. didn’t play a lick last season. Came in this year and got tossed around from starter to 6th man to far end of the bench on a whim and shortest leash on the team
When he drove in for that layup he did it with ease and made no indication that he was going to try and score again. When he got yanked late for the foul he seemed incredibly pissed and “idgaf anymore” , which is the first time I’ve seen it with him. I called it in the game thread based on his response that Ime wasn’t going to let him play again.
Glad I didnt neglect my sleep trying to finish this past game. When Ime started Holiday and then Okogie was subbed in before Reed I knew what time it was. Then I saw the double big and I just went to sleep. Seems Ime is a good culture setter, but Im not sure hes the guy to get to that next level and win championships with.
Reed not playing well when playing. Spacing still a huge issue any time two nonshooters on the court. Reed's cold streak, playing less minutes streak is showing how important he was to winning when he was playing well. The Rockets need shooting. Reed not shooting well is killing the Rockets. JSJ not shooting well is killing the Rockets.
Reed on the bench clapping after Amen bricked a FT was kind of an indication he was pissed and just completely fed up with this BS. I think we need to trade him since we are going to stick with the incompetent coach. These kinds of things typically only get worse.
If this happens w reed and then it’s our duty as rockets fans to boycott the games and the team till Ime is fired
Holiday is not shooting well either. After some hot shooting earlier, he shot 3-22 from 3 in his last 10 games.
Reed's offensive gravity still provides utility even when he's been shooting poorly recently. He will often get another player an open shot as his man has been instructed not to rotate. Plus, he's the best initiator on the team currently. He has very good vision and typically makes the correct play when doubled at the top of the key.
Reed should be our staritng PG and finishing games, we need his shooting and handling on the floor at winning time. Ime doesn't like him because he gambles too much on D, well Ime was a below average player who had to play that way because he stunk everywhere else on the floor. Reed is a guy who will impact winning - but we have to lean into him.....Ime is a coach that r****ds growth and overvalues mediocre players like FVV and Adams. DD
In the past there were similar posts about Ime treating Sengun unfairly, and holding him up to a different standard. The sentiment was that Ime did not like Sengun's game or even Sengun himself.. Some fans were upset, but it turned out Ime just expected more from Sengun. I don't have a issue with Ime being harder on younger, talented players. You can not do that to a veteran, it is already too late. The coaches see Reed Shephard every day at practice and if they are harder on him, maybe it is because they know they can get more out of him defensively and offensively. Reed appears to be a smart player. He is also unselfish. Those two usually indicate a degree of being coachable.
Well those COACHES are responsible for us losing to CRAPPY teams by playing players like Holiday over much better players like REED. Why should anyone Trust what IME is doing, he hasn't earned crap. DD
The last player who was continously benched by Ime in the last two years for every single mistake was already shipped to Phoenix, so good luck Reed!
