Limited government, free market, the Republican economic policies, for the most part, individual freedom, pragmatism, among others. But I also feel that Trump does not represent a lot of traditional conservative values, and the party has moved further and further to the right, making me seem more centrist. There are a lot of social issues I lean slightly left on. For instance IDGAF who someone wants to marry. Doesn't affect me in the slightest. I'm fine if people want to have abortions within their first trimester. I don't believe in raising minimum wage, I'd much rather see a UBI. I don't believe in open borders, rather I think we need to provide realistic, but tough pathways for people to become legal, and even at that, penalize them for taking the wrong pathway (like escalating their tax bracket or something). I think if you are convicted of a crime as an illegal immigrant, it should carry an automatic x2 multiplier on your sentence, and then you are deported. If you come back and commit any crime, it's life in prison. At the same time, I think we need to work towards a universal healthcare solution. I don't support free school tuition, etc. I'm not a huge DEI person at all, but I think we need to acknowledge that things like red lining were real and their effects are still being felt. We also need to acknowledge the governments role in creating the inner city ghettos, etc. Any other questions...?
Gun to my head that's what I'd guess but, again, I don't know all of what was said/done in the lead up to that. Either way, even if it was a stone cold lock felony evading arrest it doesn't justify Ross' actions so I kinda don't give a ****?

It's amazing how many people say they have watched all the videos and think otherwise. My mother in law swears she watched all the videos and that he was hit in the hip. O told her there's no way, and that he put his hand on the vehicle to brace himself. She refuses to believe that. She says that if you watch his cell video you can tell her gets hit, to which I say that if I am filming with my cell phone and shift my filming hand suddenly, it's going to look chaotic no matter what. She also watches Fox News nonstop. The real issue is that media (and politics in general) has divided people so much that it literally has their vision clouded.
I agree, there is no law saying the state minimum punishment for felony evasion is death. A peace officer shooting a suspect is not punishment, it's a completely separate thing.

I'd guess I'm somewhat all over the place. It doesn't change my opinions, or my life one bit whether you label me as a Democrat or Republican or a boomer or whatever (I'm 38, but do have "Get off my lawn" tendencies, I guess).

It was not clear to me. There should be a court trial where whatever evidence there is can be evaluated by a judge and jury. That is how this should go forward. I guessing that Trump's DoJ will not bring this to trial and will actively prevent the state from also going to trial. This is behavior one would expect from a guilty party. BTW a 3000 lb car hitting a 200 lb man should do noticeable damage to the man (and some limited damage to the car). We do know that the man appeared unharmed after the incident, which leads me to believe if there was contact between the car and the man, the contact was inconsequential.
Locally, most of them, which is ultimately why I switched from an independent to a Republican. For President, I've probably never voted Republican. I voted for Obama. Young and moved by his charisma and ability to unite people. That was enough for me as an early 20 something. Since Obama, I've voted independent. I refuse to vote for Trump, as I am also voting for the person. But I didn't support Hillary or Biden, and would not give vote to them. Are we watching the same video, the car is making contact with the left side of his torso (three seconds into the video), you can see his right arm at full extension in front of him and he is shooting through the windshield (confirmed by the bullet hole in the windshield).
