fair point. But have to point out that we did have Fred last yr. Even a bad yr from Fred eliminates our turnover problem. The leadership, defense, facilitation and ball handling he provided made a big difference. So I don’t think it’s apples to apples this season. I have come to believe that you just can’t be a contending team without ball handling in your rotation. Our bad passing, our turnovers, our lack of facilitation is just too steep a hill to climb IMO. We simply don’t have that on the active roster. So I dont think it’s gonna get fixed by rotational changes.

Thats why I’d like to see us add a guy like Alvarado. A realistic add that won’t break the bank, but fills the role we are lacking. It might not be enough, but I’m positive it will make us better.

I agree that the Blazers are not scrubs or anything, but still you would have accepted to, for the very least, split those two games, especially if we call ourselves contenders.

We're out two starters: Fred and Sengun. We've been without Fred all year and it shows. I think an average or bad team would lose two of their starters and have a record like 15-20 or worse. (Also we've played nine more road games than home games).

I do think if we want to win in the playoffs then picking up a backup PG is the right move. Other teams have seen the blueprint to stop us - force turnovers and make us shoot over the zone - and the right backup could help with both of those things.

I don't think this team has had an opportunity to prove it doesn't need Fred. I'm glad it has forced Udoka to develop Amen and Reed rapidly. I would have liked Fred off the bench. That would've helped.

We're currently #4 offense and #6 defense despite not acquiring a backup PG, both PG's learning their position, Tari and DFS barely being around and the new squad not getting the opportunity to build chemistry with a stable starting lineup. Historically, any combination of a top 10 offense and top 10 defense is a title contender.

Is this the disaster we really think it is? This is the big "collapse" of losing Fred? If you had told me without Fred we'd have these offensive/defensive ratings, I would have dumped him for any younger PG immediately. There was no reason for him to decline so badly last season except age.

I think getting healthier, acquiring someone minor like Alvarado and having a relatively easy remaining schedule catapults us to the only realistic threat to OKC. Doesn't this mid season dip in motivation feel familiar? Teams get tired of a coach being angry all the time. He'll capitulate to them, especially with KD now hovering above him unhappily. Can't blame it on kids anymore.

Curious if they wait to see what his offer is this summer and if they match. They really want to see what his value is im assuming, and
he thinks hes getting paid on what he brings beyond his injury problems/numerous missed games. Eason is very good 3pt shooter/defensive player but if you dont play hardly your not going to get guaranteed contract, but i assume most of that money (100m they offered him)wasn't guaranteed unless he played certain amount of games. I wonder what other teams offer him.

Tari is going to be really disappointed in the offers. Hes injury prone, inconsistent and moody.
