Ya i don't believe for one second the gms are sitting down and spending more than 3 seconds to answer these questions. I will say that everyone who i actually listen to thought the daniels dpoy stuff was asinine, but i probably listen to the more “nerdy” types than most.
The DPOY is a media vote dude. It's not asinine, it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do: awarding the defensive player that excited the media. That's irrelevant to whether he's a good defender. I think this is where we part. No I don't think it's reasonable to think on/off is perfect, nor do I think it's reasonable to look at the GM's voting record and say they're just guessing. You're just ignoring that you agree with every other defender they've ever nominated.
I never like the buying super team thing to try to "buy" a championship from the days when Miami did it. I still don't like it. No to Giannis unless it is a steal and we don't have to give up Amen or Sengun. I will still follow the Rockets but.......
Sengun and Amen are untouchable. They aren’t going anywhere. We don’t have the salary to match without including Sengun and multiple other players and then you have to fill out your roster. I think the Knicks are most likely. Giannis is a tough fit for most of the best teams in the league, either from a salary matching perspective or from a team dynamic. He is really a pg that needs the ball in his hands. SA has the draft picks and Fox’s contract that might make it work. It would delay some of their development of young guys, but could work from a fit perspective. It wouldn’t be the worst gamble ever, since they may need to go for it with Wemby sooner rather than later. The only other possibilities I see, are Atlanta and Toronto, but would Giannis agree to it?
I mean at this point I'm wanting to assess if we legimately can win a title this season and next with Giannis + KD as the top two guys. If I really believe so then I think you'd be foolish not to at least try to make a deal. Obviously adding in some draft capital. Is that enough for the Bucks to pull the trigger and start a rebuild? They can offer Eason a deal in RFA.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Says He Will Never Tell Bucks He Wants A Trade Giannis: No Plans To Leave Bucks, Asking For Trade ‘Not In My Nature’ "There will never be a chance, and there will never be a moment, that I will come out and say 'I want a trade,'" Antetokounmpo told The Athletic. "That’s not … in … my … nature. OK?" Antetokounmpo added that he's "locked in" with the Bucks. He also added that "My plan is to be here for the rest of my career."
“Locked in” with the 16-21 bucks? Who’s 4th in their division above the 6-31 pacers? Lol okay Giannis we believe you.

It almost never works, you almost have to get a young super star or draft one and build around them. That Heat team seemed unfair at the time, but it really just wasted Chris Bosh's talents and made him take a back seat, they won a couple, but if they moved on from Bosh and added the right pieces they would have won more later. The Knicks have been trying to buy one and they have been unsuccessful, the Lakers are gifted Luka and still may not win with him, you need a lot more balance and thought put into roster construction than just pairing the available super stars. You can probably pair super stars that fit together and win, but the right ones are rarely available at the same time, taking whatever star available and hoping for the best rarely works.
Don't take this seriously. This is 100% a PR move by Giannis because he has a player option in 2027. Here is the situation as I understand it: Giannis will obviously not exercise his player option in 2027 unless the Bucks agree to extend him for another 4yrs/~$300M. So the onus is totally on the Bucks: Either max extend him or he will decline his option and become unrestricted in 2027. He doesn't need to ask for a trade and is free to blabber about commitment to the Bucks without literally lying. The Bucks must make their decision on trading or extending Giannis before next season starts.
if this team wants to get over the hump and really contend I believe they have to go for either Giannis or get a dominant SG or point. This means trading either Sengun (For giannis) or Amen (for guard). I would do this if i were GM. Likely after this season if we fail. I would make that move. Im sure Stone and his team has explored or currently exploring or these scenarios. Whether he executes them is another thing. As I said I have never seen a team win a championship with a guard that can’t shoot more than 8-10 ft. Especially in today’s NBA with zone defenses, 5 out offense and volume 3s. 2 out of your starting 5 can’t be non 3 pt shooters.
