Maybe Trump will pardon Maduro for being a narco? Not likely unless they can convict for 500 tons of cocaine like the Honduran ex president he pardoned recently.

The simple explanation is ... They enjoy being dominated. Then wonder why they can't appeal to straight men.

Every hispanic I know in real life is overjoyed.

Meanwhile the woke are retweeting marjorie taylor Green, an actual cave woman.

    Voice from a Venezuelan:

“As a Venezuelan, I can say this plainly: much of the left leaning media is going to aggressively twist this story. What needs to be understood is that when the bombs fell, they struck only military bases and an international airport that had already been closed, with all international flights suspended.

Many Venezuelans did not panic, they cheered from their homes when they saw the helicopters. This was not random or uninformed support. Roughly 75% of Venezuelans voted for María Corina Machado, backing her platform and her openly stated plan to pursue cooperation with the United States, including the possibility of U.S. intervention, to remove Nicolás Maduro from power in exchange for reopening Venezuela to free trade.

This was a calculated choice. Venezuela has resources the United States wants, and the United States has the leverage and support Venezuela needs. It was a path we knowingly chose, fully aware of the risks involved.

Love it or hate it, do not accept the narrative at face value. This was not imposed on us. We chose this path.”

i thought at the time it was absolutely skeezy that we cut a deal with him on the chemical weapons stuff and then started assisting the rebels before we'd even finished the disposal process. Our end of that deal was normalization of relations, and supporting rebels didn't seem to qualify, at the very least in spirit.

I still stand by that. It doesn't sit well with me. I feel like the US kind of welched on their end. He was a mentally ill monster, but a deal should be a deal.

I'm not sure how vocal I was about it at the time, though, so maybe there's a silent MAGA minority out there who is really not happy with this but keeping their mouths shut for now.

To wit, there was a very prominant anti-foreign war conservative poster around here in 2019 who just shut up and stopped posting for like two weeks when the US struck Qasem Soleimani, Iran shot missles back, and all the conservative doves were suddently calling for Iran to be turned into a glass parking lot. I'm sad to say I can no longer remember who, but I only noticed because I was trying to document the before and afters, and he literally disapeared just as the rage was boiling over.

I did have a post somewhere recognizing the integrity of their position, but I can't find it just now.

This should put an end to all the naive liberals and others who like to tell themselves the US overthrowing oLatin American governments by force is just something that happened years ago.

    Shameful.

I would say the President of the United States unilaterally kidnapping the leader of a sovereign nation is beyond the pale of any reasonable action that a POTUS can take. He should be impeached immediately.

Keep your propoganda out of this thread. There has no verification of that claim the opposition party made zero. Theyve provided zero evidence of their claim. The CIA couldn't even verify their claims.

Keep your propoganda out of here please

Maduro is in no way the leader of Venezuela. He operates in the same facist way Democrats tried to do in 2024 - by taking their opposition off the ballot.

Only radical liberals and muslim commentators are mad about this. They want their brand of facism in power.

This happened during the Biden Presidency. Your facism is on full display as usual.

Venezuela's Supreme Court disqualifies opposition leader from running for president

Venezuela's Supreme Court, loyal to President Nicolas Maduro's government, on Friday, January 26, disqualified opposition leader Maria Corina Machado – who handily won a 2023 primary vote – from seeking election this year. The court upheld a 15-year ban on Machado, 56, from holding public office and also confirmed the ineligibility of a possible opposition stand-in – two-time presidential candidate Henrique Capriles. The United States and others have repeatedly called for the reinstatement of disqualified opposition candidates ahead of elections, for which a date has yet to be set.

But the Supreme Court said Friday Machado would remain disqualified "for being involved... in the corruption plot orchestrated by the usurper Juan Guaido." Guaido, now in exile, was recognized by dozens of countries as the legitimate winner of elections in 2018 that saw Maduro inaugurated for a second successive term despite widespread fraud claims. Maduro has not confirmed he will seek a third term but is widely expected to do so.

Considered one of the country's most respected voices in Venezuela's opposition, Machado has long denounced President Nicolás Maduro's government as "criminal" and called on Venezuelans to unite to depose it.

She was barred from running in last year's presidential elections, in which he won a third six-year term in office. The vote was widely dismissed on the international stage as neither free nor fair, and many nations view his rule as illegitimate.

The Maduro government has repeatedly threatened her with arrest, accusing her of calling for a foreign invasion and labelling her a terrorist for protesting against the election results.

Keep digging yourself into a bigger hole. Facts will always dominate your feelings. This was widely acknowledged by liberal publications.

How Venezuela’s opposition proved its election win: ‘A brilliant political move’ | Venezuela | The Guardian

A meticulously planned operation with tens of thousands of volunteers succeeded in gathering 83% of voting tallies.

In the weeks before the election, about 5,000 workshops were held across the country to train the volunteers: political party members, activists, youth groups, and also citizens with no political affiliation.

“We taught all the electoral laws and what each person should do on election day,” said the activist, who estimated the plan involved more than 1 million people.

Thanks to a plan months in the making, opposition activists had succeeded in gathering more than 83% of the voting tallies: long printouts resembling till receipts, which showed that Maduro had in fact won just 30% of the vote, compared with 67% for González.

The scanned tallies were uploaded to a website, which displayed the overall result, and the outcome for individual polling stations.

“It has been a brilliant political move by the opposition, an extremely impressive logistical achievement”, said Andrés Pertierra, a PhD candidate in Latin American and Caribbean history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “Basically, the opposition is forcing Chavismo to own up to the fact that they’re stealing the election.”

600,000 volunteers in an effort that took months of planning.

Widely acknowledged by liberal publications during Biden's last year of Presidency.
