So you think we’d be better off if we let Jalen walk for nothing and didn’t land Reed Sheppard? lol that’s certainly a thought. A silly one, but a thought nonetheless.

Spurs fans feel like an entire population of people that grew up next to one of those Pasadena refineries.

I can’t remember who posted this starting lineup, but it’s what I want to see going forward:

    Sengun
    Amen
    Tari (or a healthy DFS)
    KD
    Reed

and I’d love to see this 2nd unit:

    Adams
    Bari
    DFS (or a healthy Tari)
    Okogie/Holliday
Point Guard Acquisition at trade deadline

I don't think Ime will ever run a 10-man rotation.

Suns look pretty decent and well footed going forward (meaning the picks they owe us could be mediocre) and I don’t think we have great odds to win a ring with KD.

maintaining the Nets picks, the pick we sent for KD, Brooks, and further relying upon the youth instead of the fun 37 year old superstar stop gap may have been a better situation for our championship odds in 3-5 years.

Vegas believes we have pretty good odds of competing for a championship. At 5th and closely bunched with San Antonio and the Knicks in the 3rd and 4th spot.

We also have the 2nd best Net Rating currently built on the 10th toughest schedule so far. OKC and DEN have both had the easiest schedules so far.

We aren't OKC. I get it. But opening night, ring ceremony night, on national TV, we took OKC to 3 OTs in the loss.

To say we don't have "great" odds to win a ring with KD seems....I don't want to say delusional, but....what other evidences are you looking for to feel like we have great odds to win with KD? What else do you expect from the current team to get you to change your mind?

Am I making sense? I assume you are a reasonable person, so I'm asking sincerely, what else do you need to feel good about our chances?

Or maybe I should frame this another way, would you be satisfied with good odds? Or a puncher's chance?

Maybe I'm setting my expectations too low.

Maybe .... but the pick they gave for KD was last years #10 which turned out to be Maluach who has played in only 14 games so far averaging under 5 minutes per. Maybe the only guy taken aver 10 who's doing anything is Cedric Coward .... who many of us did like (myself included).

As for the Nets picks, had we kept them, they would have done all they could to be mediocre, borderline lottery to play in team much like PHX has done - they have no incentive to lose and can't get much better.

I don't know how much better or worse PHX will be next year (when it matters to us) .... Maybe they are worse than Brooklyn, maybe not.

I won't say the team's championship odds are great, but I do think they are better with KD than without and they got off of Jalen's contract in the process which is a plus.
I think things would be much different had FVV not gotten injured. The team is pretty much headless .... He comes back next year or better yet they trade his contract to upgrade the position, this team looks much different, along with another year of improvement from the young guys.

I was against trading for KD but for the price, I'm good with it now, and they at least have a punchers chance .... more than they had before and that window doesn't really close once KD is gone, Sengun, Amen, Jabari, Reed & Tari could still be together after that ....

First two clips - CP3 gets juked into allowing an open shot, then puts three moves on only to find himself still defended.
    Against an aging baseball player.

I’m all for him going to the Spurs or OKC.

Rockets have played only 12 home games and 19 on the road. After the upcoming west coast road trip finishes up Sunday/11th at Sacramento, they will have played 13 home and 24 on the road. This is almost a 2 to 1 ratio of road games!

That is ridiculous and may explain why the NBA spaced out the Rockets so much in the early part of the season.

Before the Durant trade, I was expecting the Rockets to trade out of the draft. With NOP trading up to 13, the Rockets had a good chance of trading the 10th pick with them for NOP 2026 pick and the 23rd pick last draft. I think Coward, Carter, or Kasparas would have been Rockets pick if they didn't trade out of the draft.
