we are still so young, our core 5 are all 24 or younger (24, 23, 22, 22, 21) their brains arent even finished developing yet

 

Once again the PG position injury has been massive.

No pace, no consistent offense.

KD didn’t come here to play with a bunch of young guys, he came to play with a Veteran Pg AND young guys.

right now sengun and Thompson are doing too much but what choice do they have?

also missing that defensive intensity we had last season and we can’t make it up for FVV. We will make it up with Tari and DFS eventually for D brooks.

The "Play harder, clap clap" coaching style can only take you so far. For a young team, it will carry longer. But eventually, players tune out. If they aren't self-motivated, or they have low morale for whatever reason, it doesn't matter how much the coach calls them out.

 

With KD being such a hooper and “student of the game” I wonder if he is starting to question Ime

Last game someone hit a 3 over Amen and Ime called a timeout yelling at Amen to “wake the f up” and Amen walked right by Ime looking like he didn’t want to hear any of that lol

 

defense requires the entire group. if 1 person lacks or no longer put in the effort, defense goes out the window. replacing jalen+brooks with durant+okogie made the defense dropped dramatically.

losing jalen was fine but losing dillon brooks did not help this team whatsoever for defense.

 

I think the Rockets will be just fine but I’m here for the not hot takes:

Jabari Smith Jr sucks
Amen at 1 is not Him
Reed Sheppard is good
Alperen Sengun is not optimized
Tari Eason is more important than a lot of people here think

 

I wouldn't say durant+okogie is much worse than Jalen+brooks. Jalen vs Durant is a wash, with Durant maybe a bit better with his length. Okogie is no slouch on defense. He's just not a vocal guy like Brooks. We miss FVV and Tari on defense.

 

If I am looking at the standings correctly:

We have played the fewest games in the NBA (28)

We have played the most road games in the NBA (18)

5 of the next 8 on the road.

I can’t believe you don’t think the Harlem Globetrotters at the top of the key that leads to an iso for KD or Sengun an actual play. I’m always whistling when they run it.

 

Dort is a dirty player. He's rising almost to Draymond's level. His flopping can earn him a graduate degree from the M. Smart School of Fake Fouls.

 

I wonder if Draymond hurt Wemby if the NBA would finally suspend him for a year or two? It would be quite the dilemma for Silver.

 

I think in an alternate world where we never gave Jalen an extension, and didn’t make the Suns/Nets pick swaps trade, that we’d be better situated.
