Rockets interested in Chris Paul?

We dont need CP3 to run n gun and get transition buckets... we need him to settle things down and set the half court offense periodically....

 

Chris Paul for 10-15MPG every other game would be fantastic in addition to the aforementioned mentorship / bonus offensive coach abilities.

This is a no brainer. Tate + a 2nd helps the Clippers. Get it done.

 

Not to argue .... but I think Schroder is unattainable. The team just doesn't have the matching salary, Tari and Capela don't get you to the required $14m alone, much less the extra minimum salary slot required to fill the 14th roster spot.
Unless they are giving up one of Amen / Reed / DFS / Adams, they can't make the $$ work .... and I'm pretty sure that aint happening.

Been thinking about this a lot…I think I’d bring him in. Cost would be nothing….nothing to lose. Team very clearly needs a PG no matter how hard the devotees of my favorite Rocket, Amen, disagree.

The quicker the Rockets can get CP3 in the better. Stop screwing around before you miss this opportunity. Some of you guys dont understand. The little things that a vet like CP3 does in games can be crucial in situations like Denver.

 

Plus he’s pissed off and will be motivated.

 

I wanted him at the beginning of the season, but honestly he looks toast at this point. It could be that he has had a slow start, but honestly i dont get the same feeling I did w Lebron's slow start where I knew hed get into game shape after a injury. Once you hit this age you can go from being a productive bench role player at 39 to someone that does not belong on an NBA court at 40.5+ years old. CP3 has a ton of miles on him, and has looked terrible this season. Tate is good injury insurance w Tari and DFS being uncertainties, dont think i want to give him up for what is left of CP3.

i think he goes to the Spurs if he does not retire.

No. Still hard capped - that only comes into play if they first clear actual cap space. Then they could make a trade to absorb a bigger salary without sending out anyone.

Looks like the Raptors will waive CP3 tomorrow if nobody trades for him.

I think we should 10000% bring him back here to Houston for the vet minimum salary. He will be a huge asset for Reed and Amen’s growth at PG. But most impotently at 10-15 minutes a game CP3 can control the tempo and flow especially late in games.

 

Agreed. AND he can handle ball pressure, something Reed can’t seem to do. No shade to Reed, but we’re trying to win NOW.
