So, the man was 18. Was the girl 17?

I see a scenario where the “man”and the “girl” have possibly been dating when both were minors.

This may have been an overreaction by Bev.

 

The more I learn about it the less benefit Beverly gets. I understand why but it’s not okay. What was okayed in 1970-80’s is no longer today. Plus he is a man with money now. Time and money changed and he hasn’t. What makes him great is also what makes him news. I’m still a fan and wish him well. Remember don’t f with Patrick or anyone he cares about.

 

Former NBA Star Patrick Beverley, arrested on November 14th for an assault on a family member (impeding breath), was charged with a 3rd-degree felony but remains unindicted. The probable cause warrant was posted today, detailing the allegations from that night. According to the probable cause affidavit, Beverley’s 15-year-old sister had snuck out to meet her boyfriend; when she returned, their mother called Beverley to the house, where he allegedly grabbed the girl by the neck with both hands, lifted her off the ground, squeezed for 20–30 seconds until she couldn’t breathe, carried her while still choking her, slammed her against walls, laid her on a couch, stood over her and punched her once in the left eye, and told her he would “be the family member that kills” her. Deputies observed visible neck marks and petechiae (burst blood vessels) in the whites of her eyes, consistent with strangulation. Beverley is innocent until proven guilty, and this is a developing case.

What did he go after his sister for in that situation? That makes it so much worse, there's no argument whatsoever about defending her from an adult guy like I originally thought there might be.

 

Awful. He's no longer a Rocket to me. Not even an ex-Rocket. He's always been kind of an ahole but now he's scum. F that guy.

Not the same.
1. A 37yo dude choked out and punched a female.
2. That female is half his age.
3. That female happens to be his sister.
4. The dude is a pro-athlete (so very strong)
5. Generally, in America, it doesn't usually help that the dude is black.
6. BUT, at least the dude is filthy rich to cover legal costs (but of course that also makes him a bigger target)


As an aside, I don't think most dudes could grab a chic by her neck and pick her up off the ground.

 

I misunderstood. He is a POS. I am no longer a fan of his. You can’t treat people like this and live outside of prison.
