82games has the most amazing stats I have ever seen. I can't imagine the amount of work that would go into analyzing every game to get these statistics.

The stats on Mo are really boggling. Basically, the Rockets score a lot more when he's on the court and a lot less when he's not. I haven't seen much of the games so I have nothing anecdotal to back this up. Apparently J Howard has the opposite effect.

An interesting tidbit- in an analysis of different 5 man lineups, this lineup:

    Lue-Ward-Tracy-Mo-Ming

Was very very successful, but only in 8 minutes of time. I wonder if JVG will pull out that lineup again later.

Still looking at 5 man lineups- take the starting lineup and replace Mo with J Howard- performance totally plummets. Weird- does their level of play change so much when we put in Howard for Mo?

This is only after 5 games; these stats will mean a lot more after 30 or 40.

Howard's been having a lot of problems shootingwise coming off the bench, during times when Yao tends to be off the floor. It's hardly a surprise that the Rockets have trouble scoring during these stretches.

Check this stuff again in mid-season, when everyone has their roles down, and the results should be much different.

One thing that pops up for me is that our weakness is the SF spot, not the PG or PF pos...

Looking at this link shows that the PG position is the weakest. and SG/C is strongest as expected.

Weakest producing, yea, but our team is hurting with our SFs on the floor, maybe defensively?

Apparently people here forget the typical statistical question sample size. Any team evaluation based on 5 games worth of stats is useless.

Do you wish him to do bad so you can show a picture, try to be funny, and say you were right?

    Sad..

there's no need for wishing to do bad.
