The sad thing is when Cam washes out of the NBA I don’t think Europe is even interested in his brand of basketball. I see a future in the CBA though.

 

So far this year, Cam has 4 more assists than I do.

 

Agree….26 points and 6 steals if he played starter minutes. He rebounds fine and the passing will improve as his game matures. The guy is almost a point a minute and electric…only 21 which is the age of senior draft picks. We’ll regret this awful trade in the future. Funny they said the same things about Kobe his first few years and he turned out to be a decent player .

Exactly. On that note the Rockets should look into acquiring Yanic Konan Niederhouser from the Clips. Dude would be a guaranteed 28/8/5 with starters minutes.

Dude was a maniac for Magette.

 

His biggest problem is not that he can't defend or pass -- it's just that he doesn't put effort into those unless he's getting consistent PT/shots.

If he's only getting 12 MPG, he's going to launch 8 shots because he goes into scarcity-mode on O, and coasts on D. But the Catch-22 is that no coach is going to increase his minutes if that's how he's playing off the bench.

And yes, he has tunnel-vision, but people overblow how bad he was last year. The fact is, the off-ball Wings/Forwards in Ime's offense don't really have a chance to showcase playmaking.

24-25 AST% and TO% for our Wings/Forwards:

Jabari: 4.7 AST% / 8.9 TO%
Brooks: 7.4 AST% / 7.4 TO%
Eason: 8.5 AST% / 9.7 TO%
Cam: 8.7 AST% / 9.6 TO%

I believe that Magette is actually DD's friend in Milwaukee who gives him updates on KPJ.

 

I don't think TO% is a good indicator of tunnel vision. A player can shoot 100% of the time and have a low turnover rate. Cam Thomas is one of the biggest shot chuckers in the league at the moment and he has a career 9.4 TO%. You're not accounting for usage where Cam's was much higher than the other players you listed.

Also, you left Amen off the list of forwards even though he took Jabari's starting spot at PF last year next to starting guards FVV and Jalen. Amen had a 16.9 AST% as a full time forward. Even as a rookie he had a 17 AST% despite getting extended minutes in the frontcourt when Tari and Sengun got injured. There is room in the offense for playmaking forwards.

In the last two games of his first season, Cam had 4 and 5 assists, I believe.
Which (a) doubled his total for the year and (b) gave me faint illusory hope he might learn to play team ball.

4 assists in 4 games is a huge accomplishment. Last year, he didn't have an assist until his 5th game.
