Reed has lil D*c energy, I see JD as our fifth starter

Nah bro we've been down this path. Even though Reed flat out stated he did it, cmoak's made it unequivocally clear that he's the master of all measurements as he measures people's body for a living (obviously was reaching VERY high in his life goals)

 

Reed may still be a better option with Durant on the floor, we don't know yet. He'll have more catch and shoot opportunities. But I'm concerned about his mentality. A lottery pick should never allow a G-league guy to outplay him the first game of preseason. I don't agree with just handing the position to him unless he earns it.

I know y'all are saying it was just the first game, but you can tell by the way JD moves that he's not from 'round here. Reed better to step up and be more aggressive or he's going to lose mins. If Udoka sat Jalen and Sengun, he'll bench Reed too. Expectations are higher this season.

I blame the strength and conditioning coach. Reed's focus shouldn't have been on getting stronger the first two years. I can't name one elite shooter who focused on getting stronger before mastering their craft; Durant, Steph, Dell, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Steve Nash, Lou Williams, Jamal Crawford, you name him. Id rather Reed become quicker first before stronger. I'd rather him become an elite dribbler before a better defender.

Imagine Steph Curry trying to get his body to look like Corey Magette and bricking shots the first two years while he gets comfortable in a new body. They compared Reed to Steph and Jabari to Durant. Both Reed and Jabari struggled shooting their first two seasons, but they got noticeably stronger though. Jabari just started hitting shots consistently late last season and his shot (along with Reed's) is what they were drafted for.

I don’t know if he’s good enough to be a starter but he had a monster g league season, good summer league and has performed well in 2 pre season games. Very least he gets a spot on the bench.

I don't remember too many Durant comps. I remember a lot more "PF version of Klay Thompson" due to ability to defend and shoot but not create much, etc. And a PF Klay would be amazing, so hopefully he keeps improving
