So this is why we don't trade Yordan?

Let's score 2 more runs and save Abreu.

If he can unlock something in these tired/well-scouted pitchers….. lets see it.

De Los Santos warning up in tandem with Abreu.

One more run might sway the decision.

Let's get that run right now.

If Jacob Melton didn't have a Chris Carter-level bat, we'd be cooking

Bagwell is extremely knowledgeable. He’s also a homer. Sometimes his homerism gets in the way of the knowledge… but then again, its pretty cool that this franchise’s most prolific hitter in its history is also just a huge fan of the only professional team he ever played for.

I’m sure Biggio/Bagwell would have been traded in today’s economic landscape… and perhaps that would have been the more savvy move back then (pair younger prospects with Oswalt/Berkman?)…. And perhaps those 2000’s teams may have busted through…. But it is sorta cool to see now (after the golden era, of course).

I have a knack lately of saying something and the opposite happens. So why not

Anybody got stats on how often does Cam Smith get a strike thrown on the first pitch of each AB? He's got to be leading the league.

The issue was putting all our marbles in trying to keep Beltran. Retaining Kent or signing one bat would have made a difference ahead of the 2005 season. Or rather having at least one prospect pan out from the Wagner trade... or not trading for Jason Jennings...

Or using a pitcher that would've give up a HR to Podsednik

what if he continues to miss 100 games a season? I love the man but he has to stay healthy. Him on the bench doesn't help.

If he is healthy in October... and we make it to October... that's all that matters. I've seen how prospects don't pan out and how regular stars become playoff Bagwell.
