In case you missed it, the Astros played a heck of a game last night. They edged out the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday 12-4. Meluskey drove in a career high 4 runs. Moises Alou matched a career high four hits.

Scott Elarton pitched his second stellar game in a row, getting his sixth win of the season, tying him with Reynolds for the club lead. The announcers also commented on Elarton's first pitch strike record last night -- beating 18 of 24 batters on the first pitch last night. He allowed one run in eight innings pitched. In the Chronicle, he said he finally felt comfortable for the first time since surgery.

The Diamondbacks helped with a lot of errors. Melusky scored what should have been a double, but turned into an in the park, 3 RBI, home run, thanks to the catcher fumbling a catch, then a throw to third.

Melusky was then tossed from the game in the ninth, after getting into a big arguement with the umpire for stretching the strike zone for Arizona, and not Houston. (This partially led to the bases being loaded, and a three run inning in the ninth.) The funny thing is, one of the Diamondback players involved got tossed, after the game, for complaining about the same thing. I guess the refs have problems in every sport.
