Brice Matthews being called up

Rib injuries can linger. Better to rest him than to have another Meyers situation

 

We may have no clue but the team knows a lot more than they are saying. They are surely doing what can be done already and planing for the short and long term future. Trust.

1B, SS, CF, DH, 4th OF, 5th OF, 6th OF, 1st/2nd MI, 3rd MI.

I know it's different sport in a different era, but I can't separate Brice Matthews from the Great Bruce Matthews.

 

They may end up being the best father/son sports duo ever.

 

It’s ok - I expected an adjustment period, he has needed one at every level.

 

Mathews has some aura to him. It’s hard to explain but I feel like he will figure it out. I feel the same about Melton and obviously Cam.

 

Cam is special, I feel like he will be the face of the franchise after Altuve.

 

Yeah it's going to take him some time which is to be expected. .

 

Dana naliled that trade. Cam definitely looks like he's going to have a bright future here. Altuve is a lofty goal.

 

Matthews isn't ready IMHO.

 

Not sure about that. I get it's not the best time for him to adjust but lets see

Not sure he will ever really look ready until he actually “does it”. He is a player of extremes, at almost every level of ball he has had periods where he looked lost and not ready and slumps - but he would follow them up with periods of extreme production for a few weeks or even a month, and over time it evens out to be very good. He needs to draw walks like he has learned to do in the minors- but he will likely have an at bat or two a game for years where he looks foolish or over matched and that will be followed up with him turning on a 100 mph fastball on the hands or stealing second and third or making a catch over his head on a pop up that the RF or CF couldn’t get to.
