I can’t believe you left Slayer off your list (don’t tell me that they are in the .etc group - that should be reserved for Exodus, Testament, Kreator..)

That would be an interesting topic. Most disappointing album you ever bought.

that would be hard for me, I have a few for sure.

No, it was intentional because I am not fond of them.

Off the top of my head, here are a few disappointing albums that I had high hopes for at the time…..

Iron Maiden - No prayer for the Dying (it was the awful follow up to my favorite maiden album)
    Metallica- Metallica
Hail social - modern love and death (1st album was amazing)
    Interpol- our love to admire
    Arcade Fire- reflektor
The Church- Sometime Anywhere. I have learned to like it over the years but it was a huge letdown for where my head was at the time.
    Yes- Union
The Stills 2nd album. Can’t remember the name. Their first album was fantastic and I eagerly awaited it and it was terrible.

    there are more

These days, its mumbling half-asleep bars over a beat that sounds like it was slapped together on a classroom iPad — or having a battalion of A-list producers stitch some lifeless tracks for the latest 'iconic' pop star, whose main talent is staying vaguely on pitch. All in the name of the glorious mono-genre song machine. And of course, the media and online hordes (including full grown adults) eat it up like gospel, screaming, 'What a genius!' and 'Yasss queen, slay!'

30+ years ago, Metallica releases a more commercial album that still had some pretty ****ing iconic songs on it. And 12 year old kids are like, "****ing p***y-ass sellouts!"

    God, I miss the 90s. :D
