As long as the zebras don't get in the way, and we shoot at least average to good, UH will beat Duke. They haven't seen the physical/bullying, in your face D that UH is going to bring. Sampson will have them ready.
There's an almost Rocky-like story someone could write about J'Wan Roberts and Cooper Flagg. One is 23 years old and has been quietly grinding it out, gradually improving his game for six seasons with relatively little fanfare. Now he is in the last week of his collegiate career competing for a national championship with an uncertain future in basketball after that. The other is 18 years old and entered college basketball like a blue blood bolt of lightning. He gets all the headlines, magazine covers, shoe deals, and will be the sure-fire #1 pick in the NBA draft when he wants to leave. The world is his oyster.
This is a legit concern. I'm never one to jump on conspiracy theories concerning refs, but I hope they let both teams do what they do. We all know everyone wants to see Duke in the final but just let them play. Save the star treatment for the NBA, not the NCAA.
So Cooper Flagg is going to be the first caucasian American #1 overall draft pick in the NBA since 1977? Yeah he's going to be going catered to. Hopefully Tuggler and Roberts don't foul out early.
Huh? I didn't say that. He's a very rare unicorn that everyone else is going to want to see thrive and be on the biggest stage. You have to admit that it's notable. More than 48 years since it last happened. I don't think we'll get a fair shake because of that but we'll see. The NBA media definitely is pushing for him to get to that Champ game.
It wasn't there earlier but I see it now .McD All American Boys High School Basketball game is on ESPN tonight at 8 pm. Harwell and Cenac will play. Kingston Flemings did not make it for some reason.
Roberts or Tuggler would get in foul trouble quickly. Everyone else is too small. I think we will have to double him to try to get the ball out of his hands. The problem is that Duke shoots and passes it well so we may get burned on the doubles. The 7'2" kid in the middle is going to be a problem for the offense too.
If anybody wants to watch the boys' McDonald's All American Game game, they just finished the "rebroadcast", but it's available here :
