Assuming we make it the World Series. Has there ever been a city to host both an All Star & World Series game?

    Go 'Stros!

A similar question was asked to Richard Justice, but the asker included the Super Bowl. There has never been a city that has hosted all 3 things in one year. I don't know about the ASG and WS only.

    It has been done:

    '39 Yankee Stadium
    '46 Fenway Park
    '49 Ebbets Field
    '54 Municipal Stadium (Cleveland)
    '59 Memorial Stadium **
    '60 Yankee Stadium **
    '65 Metropolitan Stadium
    '70 Riverfront Stadium
    '77 Yankee Stadium
    '97 Jacobs Field

**- There were 2 All-Star games played each year from '59-'61.

Houston came pretty close in 1986.

Does anybody remember who was the starting pitcher for the American League in that game? HINT: Wayne Graham coached him at San Jacinto Junior College...
