There is a book out now called "Oiler Blues: The Story of Pro Footballs' Most Frustrating Team". Written by John Pirkle, who grew up an Oilers fan like most of us. Chronological history of the Oilers from birth until the move to Nashville. Every triumph (few) and heartbreak (many) is written about in detail. Even analyzes each Oilers draft and lists who they could have selected. Most of all, it paints an accurate and non-flattering portrait of Bud "Bottom-line Bud" Adams, who always was and always will be more concerned with his damn wallet than with the team or the city it is in. This book is a must-read for all fans of the franchise formerly known as the Oilers, and for Titans fans who want to learn what depths their team came from. The RMT Book of the Month Club highly recommends it.

It is a good book, and not to glom up Clutch's page with self-serving rhetoric... we're going to be interviewing its author, John Pirkle, next week over at Houston Pro Football.

He's currently in Nashville promoting the book, and I'll be interested to know his feelings on Tennessee's run to the promised land.
