It looks like we aren't really affected here at all, unless a random tornado occurs and hits us. I can hear it's a bit stormy outside, but that happens all the time.

I guess Milton is still moving eastwards, but looks like the main path will have it exit near Cape Canaveral, which is north of us.

My buddies and I played "hurricane tennis" (with beer) tonight, the sky looked beautiful.

I do feel for the folks on the Gulf coast though.

Never even been to that stadium but my first thought when I saw they were going to use that stadium as a shelter is that roof isn't going to survive the hurricane.

Sadly it sounds like the hurricane did cost some lives around Siesta Key. It’s going to take awhile to get a full assessment of the damage from this hurricane.

So I saw a video about this guy and heard he is in Orlando so not facing storm surge. Also the straps are anchored into concrete pilings and not just soil. In that case they probably did help in the CAT 2 winds at Orlando.

If he was in a flood area though they wouldn’t do anything in a flood.

We’re all fine. We are in Houston area. It’s just a vacation/rental property.
We have a lot of family and friends in that area though. Everyone evacuated (thankfully)
We won’t hear from property management company today I don’t think.
It was already a total remodel from Helene, funny enough, during Ian nothing happened.

Im more worried about the people who live there year round

Well, my friends in Sarasota are fine. No damage to their place or his dad's. No power of course but dad has a generator to tide them over until things get restored.

This could have been a whole lot worse.
