Basically if the Astros lose another game, or the Guardians win another game leading up to their series, then the Astros will have to sweep them.

If Astros win next 4 and Guardians lose all 3, then the Astros can go 1-2 vs them and still clinch.

 

So if someone gave you the choice of the Astros remain 5 games ahead going into the 3 game series vs Seattle vs letting the games play out tomorrow, what would you take?

That's not true, we would in that scenario need to go 2-1 vs Cleveland to get the bye.

I think the best we can hope for is we're within 3 games of Cleveland needing a sweep. I would take that and would not be surprised to see us pull that off.

Hopefully Cleveland has a hangover tomorrow from celebrating and lose. Then we are down to that magical 3 in the loss column vs Cleveland.
