    This is probably the best possible draw! We got the weakest team from each seed, I think.

    DEN, OKC > MIN
    MEM > SAS > POR
    DAL > PHO > LAC
    NOP > SAC, LAL

    The only one that is a bit of a wash is probably SAC and LAL...

    Once this thing has actual in-season implications (figure it out), then I'll actually care about it. It's a good idea, don't get me wrong, just falls short. Only appeases the "season doesnt really start until after the all-star break" causal fans I suppose... Also, bridges the euro gap even more by calling it a "cup." Great overseas marketing... The Lakers hanging that 2023 tourney banner is soooo thirsty btw...

    The in -season implication is they are in-season games, hence the name "in-season tournament"

    People still haven't gotten this part?

    I’ll admit, I thought the in-season tournament was dumb, meaningless and a cheap attempt to get pseudo nba fans to watch more games during the dog days of the season, and….i still do. I don’t even remember who won the tourney last year, and…it doesn’t matter. All it does is wreck the schedule.
