Podz is a nice player but overrated. I would have Amen and Lively both over him but it’s not the robbery of the century or anything.
I’d take Amen and Cam over everyone except Victor, Chet, and Miller. We know we got 2 of the top 4 or 5 out of that draft
Cam only getting 3 points total! That’s criminal. He averaged over 12 points a game with only 18 minutes a game. Shot well and played D. But only played 47 games. Was that the issue?
He needs to do more things that impact winning games instead of just trying to score. He started to do more of that toward the end of the season but it needs to be consistent.
I’m surprised AT got any love. I just remember Dream getting screwed a few times and Harden on the MVP. It doesn’t matter though if we stay the coarse we will be smashing everyone in a few more years. I’ll take our young core over anyone’s.
Cam put up better numbers than GG Jackson on a team that actually played meaningful games. GG just had a super green light on a team that was playing a G-League unit (i.e., he got 36 FGA in his last game). Their counting stats were damn close and Cam has him beat in per-minute production and advanced stats. It doesn't make much sense when you consider Cam was playing for a team trying to make the playoffs. Cam: 47 GP | 23.7ppg 7.4rpg 1.4apg 1.2spg per36 | 16.6 PER | 0.1 BPM | 45.4% FG 35.9% 3FG GG: 48 GP | 20.4ppg 5.7rpg 1.7apg 0.8spg per36 | 13.7 PER | -2.0 BPM | 42.8% FG 35.7% 3FG
This will only strengthen that already sizeable chip on his shoulder. They are gonna get the finger when he is making his MVP speech some day (not that I think it's in his cards but hey). Maybe MVP of the Western Conference Championship. Or play in tournament. THEY WILL RUE THE DAY!
That's fine. All-League awards aren't best player awards, they're for the best performance over the season. Injuries and G-League held them both back but we know the future is bright. Amen (12th in minutes, 10th in points, 4th in rebounds, 10th in assists) has an efficiency case for 1st team but based on cumulative accomplishments I don't think losing to Jaquez and Podz is that big a deal. Cam (23rd in minutes, 12th in points, 19th in rebounds, 33rd in assists) just didn't have enough time to even make a case.
Well, GG had that 44 pt performance as the youngest player in the league, younger than Cam, you could argue for that as well.
Sure, but he also played 350 more minutes, or to put it another way, he had 40% more playing time, with 18 starts on an awful team. That's a lot more opportunity. Hope this stuff just gives him a chip on his shoulder, and he works on those free throws.
