Maybe old news to some, but I haven't seen this talked about much anywhere.
I know they've done Revenge and Halloween Live lately, but not the rest of the songs yet.

    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment...-disavowed-with-sympathy-songs-183544523.html

Ministry's Al Jourgensen exclusively reveals plans to re-record long-disavowed 'With Sympathy' songs: 'F*** it. Instead of being owned, let's own it.'

“My hatred for this record was so deep,” says Jourgensen. “As a matter of fact, the two-inch [master] tapes of it, the actual two-inch tapes, I had a barbecue party and I burned them on a barbecue. So, there's no existing original With Sympathy’s. I just burned them.”

But now, in a completely Hellfest-freezing-over development, Jourgensen is pulling a Taylor Swift of sorts, exclusively revealing plans to re-record as many as four classic With Sympathy tracks in his signature heavier, angrier style. In fact, on the very day of this interview’s publication, Ministry are heading into the studio to commence work on a new recording of the early 120 Minutes hit “Revenge.” And if all goes well, they’ll proceed with reworking the only other With Sympathy cuts that Jourgensen says he actually wrote: “Effigy,” “Work for Love,” and “Here We Go.” As for when fans might hear these new versions, he teases: “I think it's going to be sooner than you think.”

Yeah, It's going to be next week in California.

Cool! Maybe they can put an industrial metal spin on other early 80s synthpop classics and include them as bonus tracks. I want to hear their take on Electricity.

I have absolutely no problem with Al's early stuff...nor do I mind him remixing all of his "embarrassing" tracks from the early 80s. It's good music either way. He should own it (the old stuff) and acknowledge there is a place in the world for it.

I think he kinda has. I read an article a while back about how he got drunk and went to see a Ministry tribute band that only does "With Sympathy" era songs. He said that watching the crowds reactions to the music made him realize that there was some value to it and he could understand why some people would like it. That was the catalyst for him revisiting the album. I think he'll actually sign copies of the album now - something he never used to do.

    I love you.

Post 80's Ministry is one of my favorite live acts. Al doesn't age, his stuff just gets harder, angrier and faster, and he just keeps recycling band members.

He’s already been playing some of it live. On top of that, fans constantly talk to him about the record. I have a friend who when he sees Al, bugs the hell out of him about it. Al would not even acknowledge it forever. I think he finally realizes what it meant to the time it came out and the fans.

    My "cool story bro":
I was at Lollapalooza in 1992. Main stage had some not-well-known named "Ice Cube" playing before Ministry. I wanted to be at the front for Ministry, so I went to the front during Ice Cube's show (which I enjoyed very much). When Ice Cube was finished, the crowd started pushing in for Ministry. Then making room for a VERY large mosh pit. A few songs into the show, I was getting pushed too hard into the front fence. I motioned to a security dude and he pulled me over the fence so I could walk to the side and exit.

    Unbelievable lineup at Lollapalooza '92.

Said this the other day… For as great as everyone was that day, and they pretty much all were, Ministry owned that show.
