Believers have divided over the meaning of scripture. I can make compelling arguments for all sorts of things the Church has divided over by picking this scripture this time..and ignoring that scipture that time. It's not easy. If you think you have it all figured out, you should be nervous.

 

Tangent: I've always wondered, for those who were here from the early days, was D&D always about 'monkeys flinging poo at each other' rather than 'Debate and Discuss'? Personally, I took D&D's literal words to heart, not the idea of flinging poo.

 

I would say that back in the day 90% of the post were more of the 'Debate and Discuss' variety. Nowadays, it is more of a 50 / 50 proposition.

Always. D&D was created because political topics would be posted in hangout and arguments and bad blood would follow. Clutch was exasperated with us and I think the ' monkeys flinging poo' description might have been there since it's inception.

That said, it took time to draw the battle lines and define camps and establish reputations and feuds. So maybe we spent a little more time talking. And as we had discussed in some other thread, the ability to embed tweets seems to have amped the propaganda at the expense of discussion.
