I'm paying $35 for 300 MB and I don't know what I would gain going higher. I work from home, have 4 4K TV's (DirecTV Stream, Netflix, etc), at least a dozen other devices/gadgets connected, and I never have issues with a TV or device lagging. Yall watching 4K p0rn on 10 devices at once or something to need all them gigs?
Gonna need more than 8gb to store them pornos. Might need a dedicated server and a new PC to hold all my nudes hahaah
lol. Same here. I have a 500 MB connection and think I need to downgrade. But there's just me on this connection, so maybe I'm an exception. I still don't see how a family saturates a gigabit connection. But you if you really want to flex, there are 50Gb connections out there for around a grand a month.
There's probably metrics on your previous internet usage (#gb per month), that can be used to help guide your decisions.
What were your wireless speeds before vs now? I mean you could have set up better APs previously and saturated your wireless devices better without the upgrade. It's good you got a 10gb nic though, some users don't even look at that stuff. With that said, if I were doing your setup I wouldn't be running any of their equipment (I'd be running a custom router, because I'm pretty sure you can get more out of this). And why stop at 6e, just get 7. And all new devices! Then set up server racks with crazy specs, host all your own stuff/website/servers etc etc.. First you settled on 5 gigabit, and now you're settling for 6e! We need to make this your helicopter thread and you're dropping the ball! I mean Google is going to be doing 20 soonish, not sure in Austin but trials should be starting soon.
I am waiting for EZEE Fiber to go live...the neighborhood install was a few weeks ago. I did an early birdup sign-up for 5gigs for $100. I pay $100 for Xfinity 1200mbps + unlimited on a special that ends in May. In anticipation of this, I bought a new router in early March. I am getting 1200 mbps+ on a wireless MacBook Pro connection about 7 ft from the router. That is faster than the wired connections. it is an $400 Asus router though. Since Fiber doesn't use a modem, I needed a new device anyway.
Who the **** is EZEE fiber? Lol. I'd never heard of them until looking them up just now. It's either ATT Fiber in my area or Xfinity, which isn't true fiber. Interesting.
In my son's two rooms we would get somewhere around 100mg or lower, now we are consistently over 500mg wirelessly it makes a massive difference. I don't need a helicopter I am all about housing....- , recently sold our lake house as our family has grown up....now looking at going back and forth in summers from Texas to New Mexico....or Colorado etc... Looking for a summer place in cooler climates. DD
https://ezeefiber.com/ EZEE Fiber is building out in the suburbs. Sugarland and Missouri City is being built out now. AT&T Fiber was built-out in my neighborhood, but skip blocks. I have 3 or 4 blocks in either direction of me that have had it for 7 years or so. They never bother to connect the immediate streets around me. **** them. Anyway. EZEE fiber has been laying cable for weeks in my subdivision. I am just waiting for them to go live.
