If Bregman turns it around, Dubon is a huge downgrade both offensively and defensively. If you do it while Bregman is hot you are punting on the season. If they aren’t competing then sure get the prospects.
Alex Bregman has been my favorite player since the 2017 season. That said, he simply is not the same player. I'm not talking about his stats. I know those will be there after 162. He shows no emotion. He has become a robot. He used to cheer the highs and miss of the fans of the other teams. Now he's vanilla.
At least they didn’t get swept. Something to build off of and we almost had Game 2. Getting closer to a series win.

Dubon can give you about a .700 OPS playing there everyday Dubon is good for a utility guy, as an everyday starter he is well below average
Nine games under. They may never get to .500 in 2024. Even if they do it won’t be enough for the playoffs.
I think any return for Bregman is set in stone. He has enough of a history, and this team has issues all over the place. Any team that trades for him will bet on and expect a great rest if the season.

Cheating scandal and being the scapegoat for the mlb destroyed that playful part of his game... Astros were the team to root for in 2017... feel good story.
