Josh Allen is most successful when the Jags blitz. He’s at best an average run defender, but he understands how to move amongst blitz packages. Also is one of the better pass rushers when doubled(which is scary). If Walker continues to improve on the oppo side of him they’ll continue to be more of a problem.

No matter how much they try to claim otherwise when seeking a max contract, it's still a team game. NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE wins without their team mates.

    4/90 probably, guaranteed $60mil

Pretty much what Ridley got, and Nico is better than Ridley.

Those years under Davis Mills were tragic... the difference a QB makes...

With out question Nico, Dell and Noah benefited from having a true alpha QB behind the wheel! That's why I'm truly baffled as to why Caserio hasn't pulled the plug on Woods. He's mediocre at best, even with an elite QB throwing laser beams at him. His contribution to the team could easily be replaced in the draft with one of our late round picks....

    Go Texans!!!

Probably veteran leadership in the WR room

Probably a camp cut. The greedy part of me still want the Texans to draft Roman Wilson but I know that won’t happen.

Hello Jerry, Micah Parsons is on the phone!

Cowboys fans are about to lose their minds over Micah’s new deal and no Super Bowl! And they still have to pay Dak & CeeDee. The Cowboys could take a step back this year!!!

    LOL!!

Could be part of a draft day move up? Just spit ballin....

His salary (even with Texans eating half may be cost prohibitive for many teams) looking at a WR3/4

Also could be doing a vet a fav by keeping him on the roster? I am presuming they asked around and found few takers.... or maybe the team just REALLY values him as a vet leader.

The crazy thing is we don't really HAVE to have the space RN IIRC

There's no reason to cut a camp body right now. Injuries can and will happen to every position group so it's best to just let things happen as they come then react. Woods, Metchie, Brown, Hutchinson, Sims shouldn't prevent the Texans from getting a WR if they have someone on the board that has a RD1 grade and falls to them.

Next season, the Texans will only have Dell, Metchie and Hutchinson under contract so that needs to be factored into everything.

Of course... the Texans will probably bring back Diggs and/or Collins because they fit the timeline of Stroud on a rookie deal but you never know.

Health is the biggest reason for Collins improvement.

It’s A reason, how you can say “the biggest” is wild.

he played in 14 and 10 games in his first 2 years, 15 this past year.
He was targeted 60 and 66 times instead of 109 (that’s a lot more targets than just 1 and 5 extra games)
While getting over half the targets, he had less than half the receptions for 3 yards less per catch.

if he wasn’t getting the targets, that’s a scheme issue, if he wasn’t catching balls at the same rate then that’s a QB accuracy issue. The only thing injury really affected is games played and it wasn’t half the amount… yet it was half the production.

again, was injury a part of it? Of course. Was it the biggest? He was a 3rd rounder, not like Stingley that is finally coming into the talent we all knew he had except injuries.

You don’t go from afterthought to top 10 receiver MAINLY because you missed a couple games. Just seems disingenuous towards Stroud and Slowik.

His per game numbers outside of TDs were not bad, not remotely an afterthought.
QB and offense is a reason but the main reason is health.

Nico is blossoming into one of the best WRs in the NFL and you guys think you can find a replacement level player in this draft where we are slotted? Cmon guys!

When it comes to Nico, he's a very solid receiver, but I could definitely see him ending up as the #3 option on the team next season behind Diggs and Tank. If that ends up happening, they aren't going to throw a big contract at him....so maybe you plan for the future by drafting a future replacement.

I mean, even if that scenario doesn't play out and Nico is the top option....in that scenario, you'd be drafting a replacement for DIggs because you aren't keeping both for the future.

Well…probably, this draft is incredibly loaded at WR, the next draft is also pretty WR deep. And the Texans in essence could afford a top tier FA/trade WR if they flex out some of the cap space. Having said this, I’d offer Nico something in between what Ridley and Devonta Smith got before I’d draft a WR in order to replace Nico specifically.
