No, get it right. The franchise was in the toilet because of the CP3/Westbrook trade. Every real Rockets fan new that foolishness would not work when it was announced. Then to make matters worse Houston gave up future assets. Thanks Uncle Morey!

No GM is flawless, Sam Presti, Stone or even The Great Daryl Morey!!

no doubt that the Russ trade was the worst in franchise history. But the reputation and culture of the org hit bottom over the 3 years that Stone and Silas took over leadership. The Russ trade was not the reason our culture and reputation was poor. That was because of poor coaching and lack of accountability, as well as the players Stone brought in and chose to build around. Toxic culture. And now we have a strong culture because of Ime. Ime saved Stone’s job.

Some have no agenda, but some do, but if you don't that's fine.

Silas was part of tanking after James and the whole team left, which wouldn't have gotten us Jalen, Sengun, Tari, Bari, Cam and Amen if we didn't. Some folks understand that the tanking to get assets and draft picks was successful. Some just see the surface that we had losing teams. You had to break some eggs to make an omelet, we're near .500 now and some rebuilds take 5-10 years plus to get real progress.

KPJ cost us nothing to acquire and didn't work out, it happens. Every GM you can think of has players that don't workout, including Presti among others.

At the end of the day Stone hired Ime, not Vogel or others. The results are the results. The positive results go to Stone as well and we're looking great for the future.

Fred is a much better leader and influence than Harden would be on younger players. Harden wanted to mold the team around him in his 30s and not sacrifice so our young picks could grow to take over. He wasn't going to focus on development like Fred has with this team.

Stone hired Ime and with all these picks, he changed our culture when the focus was winning in phase two. Some fans give criticism but not credit to the same person who put it all together.

We can agree to disagree, but Stone factually created this turnaround with his moves after the tanking phase.

Normally the owner gives his blessing to the coach he wants, so I would give 70% of the props to Fertitta for the Ime signing.

Fertitta has made his name in the business world, Stone was not a world class lawyer otherwise he would not have given up his job.....

You can bet who made the lasting impression more......TF or RS....to Ime Udoka.

I am still not Pro Tilman camp but that one had to be said.

That trade was absolutely not Morey's idea. By all accounts, Fertits wanted Westbroke because he wanted a shake up that he thought would sell tickets... And there was concern that Paul's injury woes were only going to get worse. Although even if they did, we still would have been better with Paul than with Worstbrick. (of course right after we trade him is when Paul goes vegan, and finds a second wind for 2-3 more great, relatively healthy years in his twilight, making the trade look even worse for us)

The owner signs off on everything. But hires a GM with authority to make decisions and to present as their position.

No one here is the GM or owner of the Rockets and knows but can only speculate or guess at best, and this sounds subjective which we all have a right to our own opinion.

But we can check the GMs transactions as a fact over opinion. Almost all the free agent acquisitions, FVV, Brooks, Landale, Holiday, and Jeff Green have all contributed to wins this year and have been signed by Stone.

Ime was interviewed, hired, and signed by Stone, Sengun. Jalen, Amen, Cam, Tari and Bari were all drafted by him. So any criticism or credit goes to the leader of the organization, be it owner, GM or coach, top players etc. This is the GMs role and we're in a great place in the future, which I'm glad.

No. The reputation hit rock bottom under Daryl Morey with Harden's pampering & the whole China comments with Daryl Morey. The Rockets wanted to lose under Silas, so the hire is pointless to bring up. The losing we did was on purpose so we could get back draft picks, cap space & free agents. Stone's job was never in jeopardy he actually needs a raise at this point

You sound okay not like other Stoney fans but I would say this......

Stone for sure is not the worst option, he is sort of the Dillon Brooks GMs, solid at times but also not really good at times as well.

If you do not trust fellow CF posters, you can trust Executive votings which had Stone at 17th or 18th....

Thank you for being open-minded, I definitely appreciate that.

Also please link the survey so we can fact check. If you're referring to this GM survey, many times those GMs get it wrong, sometimes very badly.

Here were the NBA GM surveys for who would win the title, MVP etc. last year. Denver and Jokic were nowhere to be seen,

So I'll say this, many times opinions change based on outcomes. As we hit phase two goals from the tanking phase, some fans were saying it was bad in phase one, but now that we're winning he's good or decent in phase two.

If we hit phase two and then make the playoffs to become a contender for years in phase three, opinion will likely change again to he's very good.

If we win a title, some may say he's one of the best having built it literally from the ground up.

I look at the big picture, he did a great job with phase one goals to tank and land all this talent and coach.

We nearly crushed all phase two goals this season. The majority percentage of Clutchfans thought we would win less than 40+ games this season, if we're grading that is an A or A+ considering all our talent is 19-22 for the future.

So again we can take it with a grain of salt as the GM surveys are far from perfect, but as mentioned often opinions change based on outcomes. But if that is what some value FYI, Stone was tied for fifth in the EOY voting by his peers this year, the first in phase two with a near 20-game improvement over last year.

Our Rockets are in a good place moving forward in the future thankfully.

Why? We had the biggest improvement of any team in the league from last season to this. That's a valid argument. And honestly, I think it carries more weight when you consider he was mocked for paying Fred and Dillon and picking up guys like Green and Holiday. And it turns out, these were all the right moves.

Last year we were in Ocean Springs Mississippi with my best friends. They are from there, and they decided to take us out to dinner. Roll us up to saltgrass in Biloxi off the advice of their parents who love bland food, and they were completely unaware that it was more of a chain than anything.

The food was not great. It was funny though, because there were multiple tables who I could hear raving about it. The restaurant standard in Biloxi is pretty low.
