I understand why there is religion The Ten Commandments etc it helps the human race not destroy each other But it obviously doesn’t stop it from happening which makes me wonder how violent humans were Remember the Vikings raped and pillaged People got burnt up for being witches etc but it’s definitely better than this woke crap where parents are chopping off their kids junk off cause they like Barbie And these woke dummies are calling everything racist including math you know they are teaching some dumb way of doing math in schools right ? @Salvy @ROXRAN
I already said what I would propose as the solution to the war in Gaza, a massive sealift operation to remove the residents to safe locations around the world, ending the killing immediately. Regardless, the one surefire way to have a lasting peace is by total victory, whether through total annihilation as Rome did to Carthage, or just overwhelming military victory as the United States did to Japan. Have you seen a lot of Japanese attacks against the US since 1945? What about German attacks against the US or the Soviet Union? Compare that to North Korea, Iraq, etc. Which worked out better for the winning side?
Again the US rebuilt Germany and Japan following the WWII ther have been periods since WWII where per capita those countries had stronger economies than we did. In fact in the 1980’s Japan was considered a major economic threat to the US. So while we defeated them militarily we helped them build not just viable economies but robust economies. We also didn’t occupy much of their territory and seize land in them to hold settlements. Also in regard to just moving people. Do you think that is a viable alternative to most conflicts. I mean should we just organize a mass airlift of Ukrainians since Russia numerically is much stronger and is on an offensive?
Also Germany and Japan were full nations with self determination for hundreds of years before the war. Rebuilding a society that already existed is a lot easier than rebuilding a society that has been stateless for 100 years and under the thumb of a significantly more powerful oppressor. And remember we did what we did to Germany and Japan because they were existential threats to the world hegomonic order. Gazans are not that.
I agree Hamas, nor at this point any Arab country, an existential threat to Israel. This is one reason why I find the citing what Rome did to Carthage as historical justification of this conflict so troubling. After the second Punic War Carthage was no longer an existential threat to Rome. When Cato the elder said “Carthago delende est” that wasn’t a call for self defense. It was a call for a vengeful annihilation of an already greatly weakened enemy. I’ll be clear again that stating that Israel has a right to exist and a right to defend itself. This is about how best to address that. In this specific case also how to get the hostages back. Considering that Oct 7. Did happen it doesn’t seem like the long term policies of Israel have made it much safer. Also considering that hundreds of hostages were freed through non military means while the IDF acknowledges that not only have hostages died in military action they’ve been killed directly by the IDF it doesn’t appear that the military solution will work to get the hostages back. If any are still alive. The mistake all along as viewing this as being one sided and simplistic. That military might is the only solution and any criticism of Israel is support for Hamas. As I said before two things can be true. Hamas is a Medieval death cult and Israel is a westernized democracy. Israel’s policies aren’t making this better for itself, the region or even the US.
I think once the war is over Israel will also be massively investing in Gaza and rebuilding it. We still have enormous military bases in Japan and Germany. There were hundreds of bases in Germany until the 90s. If Israel built 20 large military bases in Gaza and had thousands of troops stationed there, would people say they were not occupying Gaza? They said they were occupying Gaza when there were no troops or bases there. To completely one-sided conflicts over territory that have been decisively lost? Yes. Per multiple sources, Casualties of the Russo-Ukrainian War - Wikipedia the Ukrainian forces are actually killing more of the Russian forces than vice versa. That isn't the case in Gaza where the IDF has a 20:1 kill ratio over Hamas.
Not if there is still a Palestinian presence there. Those bases are there with the agreement of an autonomous government. If that happened in Gaza, few people wouldn't claim it was occupation. But that wouldn't happen. Germany and Japan actually have control of their own water, agreements regarding importing, transportation, etc. The US isn't also seizing land in other places with German and Japanese populations and forcing those people to move to Germany or Japan forcing a greater demand on their resources which the US still has much of the control. If Israel had been operating under the policies of not seizing land, controlling the water, and allowing greater autonomy over economic control, there likely wouldn't be the same issues with occupation.
Israel will give no shiit to you wokies in here along with Blinken, Brandon and the “Free Palestine” peanut gallery. Israel will annihilate every last one of those Hamas rapists and child murderers and there isn’t a single thing anyone of you can do about it. If you want to cancel Israel, Israel will go down swinging. Learn to deal with it and stop this “ceasefire” nonsense. It is pretty understandable that when 6 millions of your people were air fried in the special oven, you will have a different perspective on survival than the woke crowd in here.
