I really miss the 2018 rotation of Verlander, Keuchel, Cole, McCullers, Morton...

 

Boy, that Jeff Luhnow (and Brent Strom) really knew how to build a rotation!

 

A rotation that is manager-proof.

 

But can he throw strikes. Astros pithers lead the league in BBs. They need guys that can throw 97 in the strike zone.

 

Yes. He is developing a thriving barrista empire.

 

...but still, 4/5 of all pitchers pictured have dealt with long-term injuries since that year.

...almost seems as if he were nominated as tribute to "fan the flames" / get out in front of it. I heard a LOT of responses/answers to questions/discussion topics that made me pause <<- rewind.

If y’all think listening to Bagwell on tv was tough tonite, our radio guys suck as well. Or maybe losing suck so bad that it make everything astros related suck. LOL.

 

I hope the next 2 games go better, but I'm not very hopeful.

France, Blanco, and Javier are the worst possible starters against Texas this weekend.

France simply doesn't have swing and miss stuff.
Blanco relies on a pitch that teams haven't seen.
Javier's best pitch is exactly what they love.

Texas should catch up to Blanco, since they just saw him last weekend. I HOPE for 6 innings and 3 runs. I EXPECT 4 innings and 6 runs.

Texas teed off on Javier in game 7 of ALCS. I don't think he can throw enough strikes with his secondary pitches to keep them from pummeling his fastball. I hope for 6 innings and 3 runs but expect 4 innings and 6 runs.

The Astros will need to out slug them to win a game.

The good news is that after the Braves series, the schedule looks manageable for a while. IF JV returns and any/all of the starters can pitch 5+ innings and allow 4 or less runs then maybe the team can start moving towards 500 and build some momentum.

I just think it will get EVEN worse the next 5 games before it gets better.
