Man you know it’s bad when we’ve gotten to this point. You’re right though, sadly even Singleton has looked better than Abreu.
Blanco still has only made 2 good starts. I have hope but don't trust him more than Javier (yet?) His start vs Texas when they just faced him last weekend sets up very badly in my opinion. They were starting to adjust the 3rd time through the order. 1st time: 6 balls in play. 87 mph and .220 xBA were top results 2nd time; 4 balls in play. 2 @99+ mph and one w/ xBA .420 3rd time: all 5 put ball in play. 1 @ 101 mph and 2 w xBA .390 or higher. I hope I'm wrong but I think this could be ALCS game #7 all over again where they have a pitcher's number due to seeing him recently, adjustments and film study.
I think singleton should get a few starts in a row. It’s got to be hard when you know you are only going to get one at bat a game. Dude has to be pressing during it to prove himself. Let him relax and be big Jon.
After last season, management should know Abreu will lie about injury. Let Singleton play 5 games/week and maybe consistent ABs gets him only slightly below league average. Anything is better than Abreu's .227 OPS. Lawd have mercy! Jose makes Maldonado look like Stan Musial.
Heading to the game Sat and hope to see Blanco continue to dominate. If they play like they did in KC four of those El Tiempo ritas will usually make you forget anything that happened. Please don't suck this series!
