You don’t panic after 11 games. We may joke about firing Espada, but it is the same as jumping on Caserio after the first day of Free Agency. Patience and let things play out.
IDK about panic, but 1B needs addressing. Probably Abreu will be around for a while given his contract, but Singleton is not only expendable, but easily replaceable. Hope the FO does something sooner rather than later.
That stop gap between GM's is going to be the death of this team if they do not do something to address this ASAP. Although Montero looks better this year, you know at some point he's going to implode. Abreu....Jesus Christ. I mean, I think we all were excited about this when he signed, but hindsight is 20/20.
By then it's to late. You get a comp pick. Trade him to Baltimore to keep Yanks out of the equation. Raid the very full Baltimore pantry.
If they sell, they need to sell enough to open the long term window. That means at least these 6 guys would be traded: Tucker, Framber, Bregman, Verlander, J Abreu, and Pressly. The return should be enough to make Houston’s farm one of the 10 best in the league, and their payroll from 2026 on would be extremely flexible. 2025 would be akin to 2015 in terms of where they’d be in their competitive cycle.
Astros desperately need France and Blanco to continue to deliver through this critical stretch of games.
