No manager can survive losing 5 of his best SP. Sorry, hopefully some of them get healthy soon. Framber's elbow really worries me, Lots of miles has been put on that arm over the last three years.
I'm not ready to blame Espada. He's made some questionable decisions, but this is a legit bad team at the moment with the roster as it sits right now. If the pitching doesn't get healthy, it doesn't matter who is coaching the team.
So.the gm says imma give you 2 elite closers and another basically a closer for the back end of your bullpen. Is it his fault they have suckrd this year ?
Agreed, he cant help the fact that we have been snake bit with injuries to the starting pitchers BUT some things like pinch hitting the wrong person (Singleton) and questionable calls I see as a learning curve and as long as he learns from them, I am ok but you cant keep trotting Singleton out there just to get the right lefty righty match up and at some point you have to sit Abreau. The one glaring hole IMO is they seem lifeless; I see the young guys on the Rangers and Royals out there smiling and having fun and we seem to be wound up tighter then a yo-yo and yes I know it's hard to have fun when you're losing but come on man you're the Houston friggin Astros. I want to see what happens when JV comes back and we get positive news about Framber..........its early and we can turn this around but when your knee deep in the losing it seems there is no way out, but I have faith and will glued to the TV tonight
A lot of folks said anybody could take this team to a WS. It is a team not much different than last years so the excuses do not fly.
Gotta wonder if some guys on the team are not happy to see Maldy go, if you saw the look Bregman gave Diaz.
