Nix also had a bum knee on top of motivation issues which were the main reasons he dropped, neither has been an issue with Sweat.

These are my thoughts on Darius. I like Darius and believe he will be a fit for the Texans, but I would not select him in the 1st or 2nd round. Teams will like that Darius can play both inside and outside on the defensive line. He is a classic tweener. But with a lot of tweeners, they are good at two different positions, but not great. If Darius was ranked as just a DT he would probably be ranked as an early Day 3 pick. As a DE, Darius has just one move. The Bull rush. He doesn't have the speed and bend move that a lot of other Edge rushers possess. I wouldn't select him early, if another team selects him in the 1st round then that's their mistake.

This was such a GREAT listen! I heard the podcast but they have a YouTube video. They broke down a ton of prospects as receivers - only TE they spoke about is Bowers. They broke down a ton of prospects (including late rounders) and went through their pros/cons and what will translate.

Really interested to see additional details. Remember to initial story was he was arrested after lunch. Now we know it was early morning involving another driver who fled the scene.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2024/...-predictions-two-rounds-64-picks-three-trades

    42. Houston Texans (via MIN)

    Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois

This is Houston's first pick in the draft after it moved out of Round 1 via last month's trade with the Vikings. It owns the No. 59 pick as well. Newton is one of the best interior pass-rushers in this class. He had 7.5 sacks last season, which was the most in the FBS from a defensive tackle. The Texans signed Folorunso Fatukasi to a one-year deal this offseason, but they also traded away Maliek Collins, creating a void at the position.

    59. Houston Texans

    Mike Sainristil, CB, Michigan

Sainristil is the best slot cover corner in this draft. He had 6 picks, 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles for the national champs last season. Houston signed veteran Desmond King to play as its nickelback, but I don't think he is guaranteed to make the Week 1 roster. At 5-foot-9, 182 pounds, Sainristil just makes plays. I'd want him on my team.

Further details... apparently HE was rear-ended (TWSS).
He was high or smelled like weed.
Other drive left the scene (disclosed above)

I agree that Sainristil is the top ranked slot corner in the draft. How big is the drop off between Sainristil vs Chau Smith-Wade or Jarvis Brownlee?
