LOL...........what is so dumb is there was already a question about his weight and stamina and said he had put the partying in the rear view, and you have the draft in 3 friggin weeks.....................how utterly stupid to do this. With that said, it will probably drop him a few spots but I really question his decision making and I don't know if you want to take a chance. I trust Nick and Ryans to do what's best, but this is a bone headed move.................but Tunsil did something similar and we traded the farm to go get him
Much like betting on Strom to coach up pitchers, we are hoping to out-coach the unrealized potential of Okudah and Henderson who were both top 10 picks in 2020. Hopefully the combination of maturity, fit and injury is the answer for their struggles and not overestimating raw talent.
We have much different philosophies when it comes to the draft. Say DeJohn fell to 2-38, would you trade up 4 spots to get the CB that you covet? I would in a heartbeat. Quality > Quantity
As bad as I want a CB I would probably say yes to that. I have no idea how the new guys will play, but I've been disappointed in our secondary for years, and if those two didn't stand out at top level after 4 years then I'd risk seeing if a different first rounder would. My biggest concern is having so many needs to give up draft picks in the future in the first 3 rounds. We're going to need so many replacements for guys like Tunsil and our older starters, and can use depth at WR and RB too, as well as defensive and offensive linemen. We aren't going to have near the level of possible standouts in rounds 4-7. Anderson and Stroud are going to be huge contracts in a couple years, so we are going to need a lot of guys on rookie contracts as our starters. Sometimes two 2nd round picks turn out better than just one first round pick. It's a bit of luck either way.
DeJean ran a 4.42 with 38.5” vert and 10’4 broad Great size and athleticism. Scouts said great workout. One month cleared from a broken leg.
Didn’t want the guy, because he seemed way out of shape and extremely immature. I don’t think Demeco and Casserio were ever considering him with all the high motor athletes at his position.
If he makes into the 25-27 range, go up and get him 2-42, 3-86, one of the 4ths + whatever else needed
I think you're worrying about nothing, they've got a 5 year window to win a championship. Look at what Caserio has done in the last 2 years. Good times are ahead.
Trade the 2025 2nd and 3-86? I would put this guy at S and bring in Simmons if they choose to go this direction. Draft Hall Jr at 2-59 and Watson and/or Magee in the 4th.
Interesting take on Hall Jr. Most mocks have him as a late 2nd and early 3rd rounder. I'd be happy to move back up from the 4th to take him if we go anywhere other than DT with our two second rounders of the draft.
