I believe I have as many hits as Martin so far this season.

Through 1 week of the season Yainer Diaz is worth 0.6 WAR and Martin Maldonado- in only 4 games played for him, is worth -0.2 WAR.
The sequencing for the Astros has sucked- but their stats with Diaz behind the plate are pretty damn good- this pitching staff is like 3rd in baseball in expected wOBA, and Yainer has caught a no hitter and a 1 hitter while also being the best hitter on the team.
He's also spent spring training with a 10% walk rate and has 2 walks so far. It's almost like maybe, just maybe, regular playing time is helping him calm down and be a little more selective and that's making him a better hitter.
I think I predicted something like 4 or 5 war for Diaz and for him to be an all star level player- with a slight chance at being an MVP guy now. I might have been.... overly pessimistic.
it's hard for me to express how happy I am that he gets to play every day and how happy I am that Maldonado doesn't get to ruin my Astros fan experience anymore.

I've done more to help the white sox win than he has so far.

You are such a beating. Yes- bring his 000/070/000 negative 0.3 war ass back. Clearly that's what we are missing.
Astros pitchers ERA with Diaz (SSS) is 4.07. Yes- that's what's killing us- Diaz game calling (no hitter and a 1 hitter caught).
    Brilliant.

You are forgetting that Maldy has already allowed 2 stolen bases with no caught stealings and 1 passed ball.

I'm with Wulaw and are convinced you were dropped repeatedly as a child or have huffed paint.

It feels like it’s a bit. But then you think of how dumb the average person is and consider that half the people alive are dumber than average and…

As a baby who both fell off a counter top and out of the back seat of a car, I resent this remark. We can still turn out to be okay people and not whining babies who set out to ruin a whole message board and think that everyone who thinks differently is a racist.

Troll time...do we miss Maldy's leadership and ability to call games and keep pitchers focused?

Dont care about his batting. If he can stop the pitchers from giving up 5-9 runs in the first 3 innings, it would help the situation. lol
