The Yanks have had the better bullpen. There's no depth in the bullpen. Hopefully some of the AAA guys can help out. If not then Brown will need to pull off a Click and re-enforce the bullpen. The bats will come around.
This place is toxic as ****. The season just started - they played a total of 3 games. If this was the middle of May, then I would understand discussions of concern. The people being overly critical at this point don’t understand the game and how much sample size matters.
It's baseball. Even the greatest all-time teams lose 30% of their games. Even the 2001 Mariners and 1927 Yankees had 3 (and even 4) game losing streaks.
All the more reason we need to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior, Jesus H. Christ. All will be well.
Nothing like the smell of overreaction on the board to remind you all is right in the world.... That being said, what's Scrap Iron up to, and when are we trading Jalen Green?!
Very accurate. Talk to me after the All-Star break. That said, I need to see a lot more out of the pitching
Like how is Espada supposed to know who he is supposed to trust without playing them? Abreu really worries me. He is pulling his best imitation of Montero but before he gets his money. Framber and Abreu. I'm not so worried about Pressly because he did this **** at the beginning of this year.
Words without context don't have any meaning. 3 games is the context here and we haven't started this badly since 2012, Altuve's first year in the league. We had a subpar off-season and have the weakest middle relief in recent memory along with a suspect starting staff. We all know the sample size. What gets me is when folks read words that are not said into other peoples posts and change the context. These last 3 games deserve criticism. Nobody is seriously saying the season is doomed. So stop with the exaggerating.
The Astros have come out of Spring training with a pitching staff that is unprepared for regular season games. This has been a theme for them for many years. If your starters are not stretched out far enough to go at least 5 or 6 innings you need to carry a few multi inning relievers until they are. A change in Spring that gets starters ready to go or a change in bullpen make up for the first few weeks of the season would make all the difference in the world. Our hitters have started out a little better than I expected. Batting order at the top has caused a little reduction in production. Batting Alvarez 2nd has led to missed RBI opportunities. Batting Abreu in the middle has ended a lot of rallies. These are easily correctable errors. The fact is we have had enough hitting to be in any game.
