I don’t think Sengun being out is the only reason Jalen is doing better.

I think the main reason is mentally for green. Pre and post all star break has been a night and day difference offensively and defensively.

I’m sure sengun, green and udoka have seen this on fire offense and will adjust accordingly.

I just found the solution to our problems.

If the problem is that both these guys need to be involved in plays and have the ball in their hands to be their best selves....

How about now hear this out....

We transfer Fred's and Alpi's pnr and dho possessions with Green and Alpi pnr and dho possessions and have Fred play two guard but always be a safety blanket if things get really bad??

There problem solved. It's not that difficult.

Will it maximize our wins? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe Green's improvement will transfer to getting closer to the ceiling they potentially can achieve that is far higher in terms of a ceiling than a Fred Alpi pnr/dho. Maybe it doesn't.

But making the play in is not the only goal. Evaluating if this two man game can work AND putting many reps in to hone in and make it more muscle memory for the two should be another main goal.

That's if Alpi comes back this season. But absolutely that should be the case for beginning of next season.

I've mentioned in past posts that JG is the person FVV is mentoring--reason why FO got a combo/lead guard, and not a pure point guard....I believe Amen is a wing/4..........and JG was the first person FVV got to train with right after his signing

How do you know Jalen does not hold himself accountable? Do you have insider information? Has this been reported somewhere? Perhaps you have sources? If not then much like Tim Mcmahon, this is simply your opinion without any substantiating evidence. Conjecture. Judgement.

Rox were 4-1 before Sengun went down so this narrative of 1 or the other doesn't even make sense.

    Post-game interviews... Watch them.

Thank goodness Daddy Udoka nipped that in the bud. Jalen went from complaining to saying "we can do both", in regards to pace vs. half-court execution.

Was thinking if both Sengun and Jalen are no longer on the team; will there be peace on the BBS, but then was like nah, it'd just be another pair players players will argue on.

Those first two pages of this thread are pathetic. Y’all call yourselves fans? Thank God you have no say in anything the Rockets coaching or management does. I’m glad Jalen is making you all look really dumb right now.

I think the coach will figure out how to sync these two future stars.

You can laugh but nothing is going to change the fact that Jalen played like pure **** for the majority of this season. Hopefully he has turned the corner for good but his pattern would indicate he will start off next season playing like crap too. Lets hope this recent amazing explosion by Jalen is the start of him consistently being all he can be. It would be completely amazing if we drafted two MVP caliber players in the same draft who can consistently play at that level. It would be the best draft by any team ever.

Let's not get it twisted, Jalen's shown WAY more superstar flashes than Alpi at this stage in their careers. It's not even remotely close either, Green has more superstar performances in each of his seasons alone than Alpi has in his entire career so far. I love Sengun, he's definitely an all-star calibre star for us going forward, but he hasn't remotely shown the same level of star potential and is not at all the superior prospect.

The "dilemma" of how to best mesh multiple All-Star-level young players is one that Udoka is fully capable of handling.

Jalen has been pushed as a superstar and had a green light almost his entire career. Alpi was held back the first two years. The only time Jalen has been held back is during the middle of this season when Ime would bench him to close out games when it was beyond obvious he did not have it on those nights. And that was only after they spent the first part of nearly every game this season trying to get Jalen going. Alpi will be a Jokic level superstar in the near future. He has shown plenty of flashes and by far has been the most consistent of the two. Jalen may be the next Kobe but he will have to become consistent first. His pattern of playing like **** for the first 2/3 to 3/4 of each season only to turn it on in the last part needs to needs to stop.
