With the 1st pick in the 2025 MLB Player Draft the Houston Astros select Ethan Holliday, 3B, OK St. We need Astros County to return for some light in the rebuild darkness PT.2
Korey Lee sucks but that Kendall Graveman trade was awful looking back. He hasn't really contributed, and even when he was healthy he's sold. GM Crane/Bagwell and puppet GM Brown have done nothing but made bad moves. Jury is still on that Verlander trade too. Doesn't look good now though.
It's obvious Crane/Bagwell have an agreement with Dana Brown. They'll make the moves behind the scenes and he's just here to build up the farm through the draft. I'll give you your first GM job and maybe down the line we'll trust you with trades and acquisitions. The Graveman/Verlander trades has Crane/Bagwell written all over.
Sorry... but complaining about the Graveman trade is lame. Lee is a nobody and we have Yainer. They needed a reliever that had another year of control left with Stanek, Maton, and Neris leaving. It was a smart move, but injuries happen.
If (or when) they go 0-4 and get swept by a formidable opponent in the NYY and the national/local sports media asks the question: "iS iT tImE tO pAnIc?!?" The answer is simple: MF we were panicking when aint a GAWTDAMN thing was being done in the offseason... ya damnright that answer is a resounding YES. Calling it now... we barely get into the post as a wildcard, but probably not at all. Opponents ALL got better, 'Stros doubled down on a "meh, oh well" season. Something's wrong with the culture if you lose 3 of the most solid BP guys in FA (who aren't willing to adjust contract demands to build & overcome that sh!tshow manager/catcher cluster**** last year).
Serious issue. If the Yankees win tomorrow they clinch the tiebreaker vs the Astros for the 2024 season.
