I think he would've been decent and we would've won four games

Do you think we'll keep him around after this season?

Backup QB Syndrome is a real disease. In the absence of in-your-face negative data, many people extrapolate rosier-than-normal projections. The less you see, the more mysterious and alluring the backup becomes.

It's a good rule of thumb that if the backup QB had played, he probably would have done worse than everybody would project.

Yeah, and you see juuuuuuust enough outliers like Brock Purdy, Tom Brady or Kurt Warner who come in as backups and suddenly perform amazing that fans all assume that's what's waiting in the wings for THEIR team.

What I find funny is that we've seen Mills actually played and be a starter... why do fans still fantasize and wonder?

My guess is he would have played better than Watson did the past 2 years.

Sorry. I just recently became a fan and was only curious as to how Davis might have fared under a new coaching staff with upgraded talent. I didn't mean to offend anybody with my stupidity.

As a life-long Buckeye, I became a Texans fan after Houston drafted CJ and so I know next to nothing about Davis.

Hey no problem. We all love CJ. He needs to find himself a nice God fearing girlfriend (if he doesn't have a gf already) who shares his belief so he doesn't get tempted by the nonsense around.

There's nothing wrong with your thread. It's a reasonable thing to speculate on and we are in the doldrums of the NFL offseason, so there isn't going to be much to talk about once the draft is finalized until training camp starts. This website has enough polarization and diversity that no matter what thread you start there's going to be someone that thinks it is stupid, and lacks the decorum to keep it to themselves. Keep it up!

watching a few games at NRG with him at QB, he's major flaw is not knowing when the pocket is closing. Pretty much like a statue and once he's on the run, his accuracy drops a lot. Give him a nice pocket and time he throws pretty good but you probably can say that for all QB's at this level.

Were we watching the same games? Mills didn't look like a statue to me.
