How do you think Davis Mills would have performed as starter last season?

We don't have to think. We have ample evidence from the 2022 season to know that he would've sucked.

I like Davis Mills. I think he's solid backup. But let's not even play the make believe game where we don't draft CJ. I'm too old for that.

 

He would have had a career year, but we probably would have only won 4 or 5 games, in my opinion.

 

No teams are lining up to trade for Mills (i assume) . This means other orgs havent been impressed with Mills even as a back up

 

Arizona would've loved it if Mills had started....in fact they were banking on it. Can you imagine? Arizona would be entangle with QB questions/drama right now if Mills had started for the Texans.

 

Bad.

 

Nothing "solid" about him other than he's satisfied with his role being the scout team QB.

The fact Case vaulted straight from 3rd string and started two games last year instead of Mills is all we need to know.

 

After dell went down, it could be argued that mills had a better receiver core to work with than stroud did. Line was about the same and rb performance was about the same as well. Just eyeballing it feel free to correct me if I am wrong

Somewhere between his 2022 and CJ's 2023 level. But which level he would skew toward is the subject of preconception more than analysis.

 

He had Keenum start over him. I’d say the coaching staff pretty much thinks he sucks.

 

I think this is the post in this thread that I most agree with he would've had his best year, but we would've won only 4 or 5 games- well, he might have had his best season- there's no way he would've had the offensive production numbers CJ displayed

He would have been better than previous seasons since he would have had more weapons to throw to, but he still would have been overall disappointing and I think the team would have been bad. It's another reason to be super grateful for CJ.
