Jalen Green is the Western Conference player of the Week

You have to have both games. I’ve been saying it for months. The playoffs especially call for an excellent half-court game. I think Ime himself has been talking about it all year, he just delayed implementation of the high speed transition game until he could trust Amen and Cam to be contributors.

Amen has been the key to making our defense capable enough to play transition basketball. All the guys that say Sengun would be an impediment to us being able to play “fast”, don’t know basketball. The showtime Lakers may be the best example of what we can become. Jabbar and Magic were the facilitators in the half court. When you needed a bucket the ball was fed to Jabbar on the low block and he would either take the sky hook or find an open man. Jabbar also excelled at the hockey assist that doesn’t show up in the stats.
Run whenever we can, play through Sengun and FVV when we can’t. If Green can play within himself and quit chunking up ill-advised shots (this is also dependent on team movement) then he will be one of three superstars on this team, much like Jabbar, Magic, and Worthy.

Player of the week is sometimes used to spread out the love so to speak. They will sometimes recognize different players for general marketing reasons even though another player deserves it more.
