Dusty costed the team games before first pitch ever happened. He robbed the franchise of another potential ROY and All-Star. And he did it repeatedly for months. Over and over again. But go ahead and defend your lover. I'm amused at your level of bias. Dallass loves Dusty too.
Lol I know it's a parody account, but this is something this current generation of ball players would do.
Is it safe to go to bed now ? I don’t want Snell anyways. He can have fun not making the playoffs with the Giants !
The Astros have a window of 1-2 years with Verlander, Bregman, Altuve, Presley, Abreu of still being all-star potent. If they can sign Snell, they have to go for it. They way Abreu finished the season last year, showed that Abreu if healthy is still really good.
Blake is following the path of Keuchel, except he still looks really good but is more inconsistent over his career. Over 8 seasons, he's had 2 cy young years, 3 seasons over 4 ERA, and 3 seasons where he was good but not great. What's telling is that he has had 2 CYA's but only one all-star appearance. He's a box of chocolates.
I really would not give Snell a pure $30m player option in that 2nd year. I would give him a vesting player option after something like 120 innings that would be a lesser team option (like $18M) if it doesn’t vest with a significant buyout. I’m not guaranteeing Snell more than $40M for 1 year. 2024: $30M guaranteed 2025: $30M player option after 120 ip, otherwise $18M team option with $10M buyout and $12M in incentives for ip and awards. 2026: repeat 2025 terms So he would be guaranteed $40M/1yr minimum with potential to make $90M/3yr
Scot Boras is desperately trying to save face after pricing his client clean-out of the FA market. He’s working his butt off trying to squeeze teams that have practically set their budgets, into a painful but justifiable signing. But seems he is trying to get a realistic 1 year deal with additional years guarantees for his client, just in case he fizzles or gets himself hurt. Astros may be a possible suitor because they themselves have just 1 year with Bregman guaranteed, and another with Verlander if he does not meet his innings count requirements.
This headline below states it all. Nobody knows what's going on and when it will be resolved. (The only other option would be Snell signing with both Giants AND Houston) Yankees could watch Blake Snell sign with San Francisco Giants. Or Houston. Or neither?
Astros should wait for what the Orioles did to the Brewers by getting Burnes in a lopsided trade. Trade for pitcher from a team in a rebuilding mode, or pitchers who are in a contract year.
