Remember when Jalen's ball security was at a level where you couldn't trust him in full court press situations to be a primary ball handler? Now he's doing it pretty routinely and is often taking advantage of those full court presses and blowing by defenders. His ball security as a handler has now reached a level where he can be a primary ball handler for long stretches. Edit: this also gives hope for Amen.
I think it's good Greens making an effort to grab rebounds, it keeps him engaged on defense and tracks where the ball goes. I never understood the argument of an empty rebound, everyone should be making an effort to grab any loose balls, it's a mentality more than anything especially when you don't have a dominate rebounder on the team.
He's getting consistent with his jump height on his jumpers. It's the same low jump consistently. He also has stopped falling on them.
I go on and on because that's what usually happens when adults go back n forth on their viees/questions asked Get a grip dude/dudette.... I think the healthiest convo is when the parties don't agree, so they can exchange their 2 cents Maybe you should take your own advice, get off immature social media and get some fresh air, it heals the body (especially the sun) You like and highly value 3pt specialists, nothing wrong with that
His FT’s are looking better too recently. Maybe they’ve been working on it. I hope they’ve never stopped working on it lol. More than anything the pace and space is up and they suit his natural gifts (quickness, vertical jump). There’s much less resistance in the paint and he’s showing much better willingness/instincts for getting to the rim. That makes defenders respect his drives and give him more space to shoot. Amazingly we don’t have to stop working on developing his half court game, we can continue working on his 3PT shooting in parallel.
Jalen is still our best though not guaranteed chance of getting the 25 ppg guard we need to be a contender. People greatly over estimate the chances of drafting for one or trading for one. Cam and Amen are the other non-guaranteed possibilities of having that guard. Except for the weird perennial need for some fans need to focus all discontent on whoever is the current bad boy, how could anyone be so sure he is not going to develop?
Feelings mutual......I leave you with this famous bar ''Poised on the phone when collect calls came, no dugout one ninja, he pitched all game'' --- FTG
He has gained strength from his rookie debut and he is playing with more effort now. He is finally on the precipice of being a good player. needs to keep it up , I hope it has clicked for good. He probably realized if he didn't bring this effort and focus he was looking at 10's of millions less over the next few years.
3P% almost back where it was last season Great to see him have another fantastic game, keep it up Jalen!!
Incredible basketball by Jalen. In his post game interviews he only mentions defense now. Ime benching him when he wasn't playing on both ends has gotten through to him. He's bought in. He's turning into a basketball player. His ball security on drives has even gone to another level. This isn't just a post ASB fluke. He had me worried this year. But he has gained my confidence again. Jalen deserves another player of the week award and hopefully player of the month. Take us to the play-in Jalen Green. Bravo young man.
This isn't just another post-ASB boost for Jalen. The fact that we're a .500 team and winning meaningful games late in the season makes this different. And he's never been this complete of a player before.
I know I said in my earlier post in this thread Jalen always goes on a post ASB tear but I don't recall Jalen having 10+ games of consistently good play the past two years. It was more like his good game/bad game ratio went from 30/70 to 60/40. Like he'd play well but will also have bad games just at a reduced rate. But this time it's like 100/0 good games so even I can't help but get hyped. Maybe it's for real this time lol. So what changed? I honestly just think it's the baby. Maybe the slump was when Jalen first heard about the baby and he had some drama with his GF. In Feb he got it all sorted out and he locked in. It's all speculation on my end but I think him being more focused he got in touch with Ben S and reworked his shot. One of the things I was criticizing Jalen was his shot was extremely erratic and mechanics would vary every time, that's due to lack of practice. Now his shot is consistent almost every possession I think he has been putting in the work cuz it doesn't matter if you get a mindset change, shooting is a skill you need to work on it with practice. Jalens 3 pt shot is his swing skill if opponents respect his 3 pt it opens the lane and he can penetrate and do his dunks. If his shot is off people zone and he becomes ineffective. His shot being good for 10+ games gives me hope it's not just due to his PSB buff but rather due to working on his J.
