Love me some of this guy. If Caserio goes DT/WR in Rd.2, I'm hoping for either Melton or Stiggers at 3-86.
It's a matter of timing. Minnesota needs the pick in hand if they want to use it to trade up to get an elite QB, probably QB3 or QB4. We maximized the value by doing it early. I believe they are looking at DT and there are several options which should be available at 42 which probably won't be at 59. Murphy, Taylor, Sweat, Orhorhoro, Hall, Jenkins and Fiske all are expected to fall in that range. If we are lucky, we could double up. It just depends on what else is available.
Yes. It's classic Caserio like Scruggs and Patterson to cover Center. Now that worked out a bit differently than expected in the OL shuffle last year, but aren't we glad we had both?
Stiggers looks good. I think the missed years of college has hurt him on some basic fundamentals like tackling but he can be coached up on that. He just barrell rolls into people's knees when tackling in the open field.
I don’t have ESPN inside but would be curious about the new updated prospect rankings https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/dr...kings-top-50-prospects-positional-jordan-reid @J.R.
DT definitely doesn't seem as deep with talent as some of the other positions they are talking about like WR and CB. Looking at the board, if I were them, if there is a quality DT at 42, you take him if you actually really desire a DT. Otherwise you're getting stuck with either a low ceiling guy, or a big project. I think you can get CB's and WR's at 56 or 86. Not sure any DT you get at those slots will be worthy of playing time for at least for a year or two.
Almost everyone is talking about WRs, but my mind is on drafting a DT or CB at 42. I assume they will sign a FA safety.
Who are the 2 deep for the OL? Tunsil is LT I follow the team and realize I am unable to list the OL ... Can we get a top OL in the draft and open holes for Mixon and give CJ a tad more time? That is valuable in my opinion. Would a competent upgrade at guard be something to check out or is Scruggs and Patterson and Green going to mash for 2024?
Give the OL this year to gel. Scruggs and Patterson can man C and LG. They were both hurt and rookies. Give them a chance. We have 2 first round picks, and a 2nd round pick currently starting. Then we have Shaq Mason a solid vet. Patterson was a 6th rounder playing better than that and Green was a 3rd 1st rounder who will either step it up or back up Patterson. Either way, plenty invested, they just need more than 1 year of new scheme and rookies. if they suck again, then by all means. but there is no one at 42 that will be better THIS year, than what we have.
